New York Mets ace Jacob DeGrom has been placed on the 10-day injured list retroactive to July 15th due to tightness in his right forearm.
The 33-year old complained of the discomfort during a bullpen session in Pittsburgh last Friday. He immediately had an MRI and results showed forearm tightness but revealed no structural damage.
According to manager Luis Rojas, DeGrom will not throw again until the issue is resolved. DeGrom meanwhile, says that the situation is very frustrating:

DeGrom is 7-2 in 15 starts on the season and leads the majors with an ERA of 1.08, the lowest first-half ERA by a pitcher sine 1968, and a WHIP of 0.55 despite being hampered by multiple injuries this season. He last pitched on July 7th when he gave up a pair of home runs in his third straight no-decision.
The two-time Cy Young winner missed one outing between April 28 and May 9 due to a discomfort in his left lat muscle. He did not pitch again until May 25 while being placed on the injured list with what the team described as tightness in his right side. DeGrom exited his June 11th outing against the San Diego Padres after flexor tendinitis in his right arm.
Rojas said that DeGrom complained of forearm tightness during a bullpen session just shortly before the All-Star break. DeGrom did not attend Tuesday night’s All-Star Game at Coors Field while electing to spend time with his family and rest for the second half of the season.
