Jessica Eye V Manon Fiorot Silver UFC

  • Jessica Eye has opened as the +390 betting underdog against Manon Fiorot.
  • Fiorot hit the betting boards at -575, her shortest odds ever while fighting under the UFC banner.
  • Eye and Fiorot are scheduled to fight at UFC 272 on March 5, 2022.

Former UFC women’s flyweight title challenger Jessica Eye has opened as a massive betting underdog against Manon Fiorot in their UFC 272 bout.

According to the best UFC betting sites, Eye is the +390 betting underdog while Fiorot is the -575 odds on favorite when they meet on March 5th:

Jennifer Maia Defeats Jessica Eye

Eye will be looking to bounce back after suffering yet another loss at UFC 264 against Jennifer Maia. The defeat was Eye’s fourth in her last five bouts and her third consecutive setback. The last time she won was in December 2019 when she beat Vivianne Araujo on points.

The 35-year old Eye was a former Ring of Combat 130-pound champion. She joined the UFC in 2013 and defeated Sarah Kaufman in her promotional debut. The win however was overturned to a no-contest after Eye tested positive for a banned substance. After going 1-5 in her next six bouts, Eye won three straight bouts to earn a crack at Valentina Shevchenko’s UFC women’s flyweight title. She lost to Shevchenko at UFC 238 in 2019.

Being the underdog isn’t new to Eye who has seen the plus money sign written next to her name in each of her last seven bouts. However, this marks her second-longest odds during that stretch, with only her +800 against Valentina Shevchenko longer. Eye was a +185 bottom dog when she beat Araujo.

Manon Fiorot Dominates Mayra Bueno Silva

Fiorot picked up her third win in as many fights under the UFC in 2021. In her last outing against Mayra Bueno Silva at UFC Vegas 40 last October 16th, the Frenchwoman dominated Silva with her volume striking and walked away with a clear unanimous decision victory.

The 31-yar old from Nice in France is a former Extreme Fighting Championship women’s flyweight champion and most recently, the UAE Warriors flyweight champion. She joined the UFC last year and had a busy year with three fights. Fiorot lost her MMA debut against Leah Mccourt at Cage Warriors 94 but since then, she has won eight consecutive bouts, including three inside the UFC Octagon.

This marks the 4th straight time where Fiorot will be the betting favorite inside the UFC Octagon. It’s also her shortest odds ever as a UFC fighter. Previously, her best odds were at -470 when she fought Tabatha Ricci at UFC Vegas 28. She won that bout via second round knockout.
