The first half of the Jets’ Schedule is No Joke
The first half of the #Jets schedule is no joke.
— uSTADIUM (@uSTADIUM) May 12, 2022
The early betting results are rather surprising, considering that the first half of the Jets’ schedule is no joke as they have to play all four AFC North teams over the first four weeks of their 2022-23 campaign. The AFC North has long been considered one of the toughest divisions in the NFL and the Jets will find that out firsthand next season. It won’t be easy from there either.
After their AFC North swing, the Jets will have to swim with the Dolphins on October 9th, face Aaron Rodgers and Russel Wilson in back to back road games before a three-game division run with home games against the Patriots and Bills plus a trip to Gillette Stadium on November 20 after their bye week.
The Jets resume their campaign at home against the Bears on November 27th. Then the Gang Green travels to Minnesota on December 4th before facing the Bills in Buffalo the following week and hosting the Lions in Week 15. A short week will lead to a home game against the Jaguars on TNF while a New Year’s Day date with the Seahawks follows. New York will then close out its regular season campaign in Miami on January 7 or 8.

According to the best NFL betting sites, the Jets are tied with the Carolina Panthers and Seattle Seahawks as the teams with the second-lowest win total this season. The Atlanta Falcons and Houston Texans are the only teams with a lower win total than them at 4.5 wins.
Interestingly, the Jets have won an average of 4.5 games in the previous six NFL seasons. However, the team has spent the past several years rebuilding that they have improved their personnel on both sides of the field to the point that the oddsmakers like them to be playing meaningful games in December. But a huge part of that will be Zach Wilson and his development.
It was obvious last season that the no. 2 pick of the draft needed help and GM Joe Douglas improved the roster in free agency to address that need. The Jets have legit WR, RB, and TE options. The offensive line is solid and the defense should be able to make plays that they weren’t able to do last season. It’s now up to Wilson to take the next step as he will be the difference between going over or under the win total.
