With Austin Lingo pulling out of their February 19th bout, Pearce will now face Christian Rodriguez in the Fight Night event. And according to the best UFC betting sites, Pearce is the -200 favorite and Rodriguez the +170 bottom dog:

With those odds, Pearce will now be a smaller favorite than he originally was for the event. It can be recalled that JSP opened as the -365 betting favorite against Lingo and was hovering at the -375 to -350 range before his opponent withdrew.

Pearce defeats Omar Morales

Pearce heads to Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 201 coming off a win over Omar Morales at UFC 266 last September 5th. In that bout, Pearce choked out Morales to pick up his second consecutive win inside the Octagon after losing his UFC debut against veteran fighter Joe Lauzon at UFC on ESPN 6 in October 2019.

The 29-year old from Johnson City, Tennessee started his career fighting for regional promotions like Evolution Sports Combat, Valor Fights, APEX Fights, and Shogun Fights. Pearce joined the Contender Series in 2019 where he record a knockout win over Jacob Rosales and earned his UFC contract. He has a record of 11-4 with 8 knockouts and two submission victories.

JSP was upset by Lauzon as the -200 betting favorite. However, he bounced back in his next fight, beating Kai Kamaka III as the +225 betting underdog. He was also the +140 bottom dog against Morales in his last outing.

Rodriguez Emerges Victorious Against Reyes Cortez Jr.

Like Pearce, Rodriguez won his UFC contract with a win at the Dana White Contender Series program. The 24-year old from Milwaukee, Wisconsin appeared in Week 7 of the DWCS 2021 series and defeated Reyes Cortez Jr’s via unanimous decision.

Rodriguez didn’t go directly to the UFC after that victory though. He returned to Milwaukee to fight at NAFC-Super Brawl where he submitted Ryan McIntosh in just 63 seconds to claim his 7th consecutive victory. Rodrigues has a record of 7-0 with three knockouts and three wins via submission. Four of his victories have been first-round stoppages.

In three bouts covered by the best UFC betting sites, this will be the first time that Rodriguez will see the plus money sign next to his name. CeeRod was the -150 betting favorite when he beat McIntosh the last time out. He was also the -210 betting favorite when he beat Torres at the DWCS series.
