- Tyler Herro and Jordan Poole are the early co-favorites to win the 2023 NBA Sixth Man of the Year award at +500 odds.
- 2021 Sixth Man of the Year award winner Jordan Clarkson has the second-best odds at 1200.
- Denver Nuggets incoming sophomore Bones Hyland has the third-best odds at +1500.
Last season, Tyler Herro won the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award in a landslide vote.
The Miami Heat guard received 96 of 100 first-place votes to become the first player to win the award for the Miami franchise. With Herro expected to come off the bench again next season, it was a no-brainer that the 22-year-old opened as the odds-on-favorite to win the award again.
However, while Herro was the lock to win the award as early as February, he is expected to face stiff competition this year from Jordan Poole, who emerged as the Golden State Warriors’ third splash brother during the 2022 NBA Finals.

Poole emerged as the Golden State Warriors’ third splash brother last season as he put up career-highs in scoring during both the regular season and playoffs. Poole broke out during the Warriors’ first-round playoff series against the Denver Nuggets where he averaged 21 points per game with shooting splits of .548/.484/.846. His averages went down in the next three rounds but that was because his playing time was significantly cut with Klay Thompson returning to form. Still, Poole was key in Golden State’s six-game series win against the Celtics.
Assuming that Steph Curry and Klay Thompson stay healthy next season, it is expected that Poole will come off the bench when the Warriors defend their title next season. Based on his 2022 season average of 18.5 PPG during the regular season and 17.0 PPG in the playoffs, Poole could easily be among the best reserves in the NBA next season. The top NBA sportsbooks agree as they have listed him as the +500 co-favorite with Herro to win the ward.

Next on the Bovada odds board at +1200 is Jordan Clarkson of the Utah Jazz. Clarkson won the 2021 NBA Sixth Man of the Year award by averaging 18.4 points per game off the bench for his team. Meanwhile, Denver Nuggets’ incoming second-year guard Bones Hyland is next at +1500. The 26th pick of the 2021 NBA Draft was a revelation during his rookie year, averaging 10.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game during the regular season. Hyland was named to the All-Rookie second team.
Meanwhile, 2017 Rookie of the Year winner Malcolm Brogdon is listed at +1800 odds. Brogdon averaged 20 points per game as a starter for the Pacers during the previous two seasons but is expected to come off the bench for the Celtics. Charlotte’s Kelly Oubre Jr. and Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love are both listed at +2000.
