Khamzat Chimaev Finishes Li Jingliang in the First Round

Chimaev is the UFC’s 11th ranked welterweight and he will be looking to prove that he’s the real deal. The 27-year old Swedish-Chechen fighter has taken the UFC by storm, destroying all his Octagon opponents in one-sided victories while absorbing just one significant strike in his last four bouts. In his most recent bout, Chimaev finished the tough Li Jingliang inside one round at UFC 267 last October 30, 2021.
Borz is a former Swiss Wrestling Federation freestyle wrestling champion. He began his fighting career at Brave FC. Chimaev joined the UFC in 2019 and then set the promotion’s record for the quickest turnaround between UFC wins at 10 days in 2020, fighting at both UFC Fight Island 1 and 3. Chimaev is undefeated in 10 bouts with a 100% finish rate, winning six bouts via KO and four via submission.
Chimaev has opened as the betting favorite in all of his previous four UFC bouts and Borz has never closed at odds longer than -420. In his last fight, Chimaev was a massive -500 betting favorite against Li. He also opened at -300 against Leon Edwards but that fight was canceled after three failed bookings.

The no. 2 ranked Burns will attempt to end the hype around Chimaev and put himself back in the title picture. Durinho was unsuccessful in his title challenge against Kamaru Usman at UFC 258 back in February 2020 where he lost via 3rd round TKO. He bounced back by beating Stephen Thompson via unanimous decision at UFC 264 last July 10, 2021.
A former IBJJF grappling champion, Burns started his career in his native Brazil. He joined the UFC in 2014 and after one bout, moved down to lightweight. Burns returned to welterweight in 2019 and won his first four bouts including consecutive wins over Gunnar Nelson, Demian Maia, and Tyron Woodley to earn a title shot. Burns is 20-4 with six knockouts and eight submission wins.
Burns is no stranger to having the plus money sign written next to his name. The 35-year old Brazilian closed at +160 against Woodley, was a +240 against Usman and fought Wonderboy Thompson as the +130 bottom dog. However, his +250 odds for this bout is his longest odds in the UFC.
