According to the best UFC betting sites, the streaking Polish heavyweight is listed as the +238 bottom dog while the towering Russian fighter is the heavy -435 odds on favorite to win the bout.
UFC 267 Opening Odds:
Alexander Volkov (-435)
Marcin Tybura (+238) https://t.co/hTI9N14phq #UFC267— FightOdds.io (@FightOdds_io) October 4, 2021
This marks the longest odds that Tybura has seen in his MMA career and also the shortest for Volkov. But being the betting underdog is nothing new to Marcin Tybura who has thrived in that role in recent fights.

“Tybur” is coming off a 2nd round TKO win over Walt Harris at UFC Vegas 28 last June 5th. The knockout earned Tybura the Performance of the Night bonus for the second straight bout. It was also his fifth consecutive victory inside the octagon since the start of 2020 and after losing four of five bouts from 2017 to 2019.
What makes his streak even more impressive is that Tybura has done so by defying the odds. The 35-year old has opened and closed as the betting underdog in four out of those five bouts with the bout against Maxim Grishin the only time he entered the Octagon with the minus money sign next to his name.
A former M-1 Global Heavyweight champion and Grand Prix winner, Tybura is the no. 9 ranked heavyweight in the UFC. At 35, he is having the best stretch of his UFC career and he will try to even move up the ladder by defeating a Top 5 opponent. However, beating Volkov won’t be easy as the Russian has never lost back-to-back fights under the UFC banner.
Outpaced, Outstruck by Game

Volkov was outstruck and outpaced by current interim heavyweight champion Cyril Gane in the main event of UFC Vegas 30 last June 26th in Las Vegas. The fight was so lopsided that Volkov won only one round in a total of 15 across three judges’ scorecards. With the loss, the Russian dropped to 3-3 in his last six bouts and his quest for a title shot was once again quashed.
Drago has seen the minus money sign next to his name in six out of his previous 10 UFC bouts and he’s usually taken care of business. The only time that he’s lost as a betting favorite was when he was knocked out by Derrick Lewis at UFC 229 with 11 seconds left in a fight he was winning on points. Volkov was the -175 betting favorite to beat Lewis in that contest.
The 32-year old Volkov is also a former M-1 Global heavyweight champion and a former Bellator heavyweight champion. He was on the verge of getting a UFC heavyweight title shot when he was ambushed by Derrick Lewis. Volkov has climbed back to the top of the rankings and will try to keep his spot in the Top 5 against the upset-minded Tybura.
