- Mattress Mack has made a $1.2 million bet on the Alabama Crimson Tide to win the Natty at +125 odds.
- Mack made the wager at the Caesars Sportsbook in Colorado.
- The Crimson Tide are +2.5 point underdogs to the Georgia Bulldogs in the 2021 CFP title game on Monday in Indianapolis.
It seems like no big sporting event in the United States would pass by without Mattress Mack making a huge wager.
With the College Football national title game coming up on Monday, Mack made sure the event would not pass without his big balls bet.

The Houston-based furniture stores owner flew to Colorado on Wednesday to place a $1.2 million bet on the Alabama Crimson Tide at +125 odds. The bet was made at the Caesars Sportsbook in Colorado and will be worth $1.5 million if the Tide beat the Georgia Bulldogs in Indianapolis on Monday night.
Of course, the proceeds of the win ( if it cashes in ) won’t go to Mack. As usual, he is using the bet to hedge mattress promotions in his chain of Texas furniture stores. If Alabama wins, customers who purchase $3,000 worth of mattresses from Mack’s stores will get a refund and get the mattress for free.
This isn’t the first million-dollar bet Mattress Mack has made in a big sports event. He infamously lost close to $13 million when his hometown Houston Astros lost to the Washington Nationals in Game 7 of the 2019 World Series. Last spring, he also placed a $1M bet on the Houston Cougars to win the NCAA men’s basketball title and in the recent World Series, he lost $ 3 million again when the Braves beat the Astros. Of course, Mac is not winless. He won $2.75 million on a $3.46 million bet on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to win Super Bowl LV last year.
Not The Only Big Balls Bet

Mattress Mack’s wager may be the largest bet received to date for Monday’s National Championship game in Indianapolis. However, it is only the third big balls bet made on the Crimson Tide in the early CFP title game betting action.
The Las Vegas Superbook was the first to report a six-figure bet amounting to 187,604.50. That bet was placed on the Alabama Moneyline at +125 odds.
