- A Caesars Palace bettor placed a $50K bet on Mavs at +3000 odds to win the Western Conference.
- The bet is still in play after the Mavericks defeated the Warriors 119-109 in Game 4 on Tuesday night.
- The same bettor has a $10K bet on the Mavs to win the title at +7500 odds for a potential win of $2.25 million.
No team in the history of the NBA playoffs has come back from a 0-3 deficit in a best-of-seven series to win it. One sports bettor hopes the Dallas Mavericks will be the first.
Caesars Palace took a $50,000 bet on the Mavs to beat the Golden State Warriors in the current Western Conference Finals. The sportsbook took the bet at +3000 odds, or before Tuesday’s Game 4 when Dallas was down 0-3 so it would cash $1,500,000 if the Mavs make history.
The bet lived to fight another day when the Mavericks defeated the Warriors 119-109 to extend the series at least to a Game 5.
Mavs Get on Board at Home

The Mavericks entered Game 4 as -1 point favorites to beat the Warriors. However, Golden State was a -105 betting favorite to sweep the Mavericks at Bet365 USA. One of those had to give and it wasn’t going to be the Mavericks who survived a late rally by the Warriors to win the game 119-109.
Luka Doncic was once again stellar for Dallas. The Slovenian sensation scored 30 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, and issued 9 assists with two steals and two blocked shots to lead the
Mavs to victory. It marked the 3rd time in Doncic’s young NBA career that he led both teams in points, rebounds, and assists in an elimination game. In the history of the NBA playoffs, only LeBron James has more such games with 5.
Doncic got the much-needed scoring support from Dorian Finney-Smith and Reggie Bullock. Finney-Smith shot 9-13 from the floor, including 4-7 from behind the three-point arc for 23 points while Bullock made six of 10 three-point attempts for 18 points. As a team, Dallas shot 20-43 from deep or 46.5% one game after a dismal 13-45 shooting night from downtown.
Dallas a +1500 to Make the NBA Finals
Mavs are down 3-1 in the series — but then again, it is the Warriors…

With the win, the Mavs have extended the series to at least another game, which means that the $50K Caesars Palace bet is still in play. However, the oddsmakers aren’t expecting Dallas to live for another day as they have installed the Warriors as -7 point spread favorites to Win Game 5 at Chase Center on Thursday night.
Dallas however has cut its Conference odds into half after winning Game 4 at +1500 via the BetOnline App. And although the Dubs still lead the series 3-1, we’ve seen them blow a 3-1 lead before, at the biggest stage at that, during the 2016 NBA Finals. But that’s another story and that series didn’t start at 3-0.
The Caesars Palace bettor who wagered $50K on Dallas to win the Western Conference at +3000 odds even has a more ambitious $10k bet on the Mavs to win the 2022 NBA title at +7500 odds. If Luka and the Mavs defy the odds and somehow win the title, that bettor has a potential win of $2.25 million. But then again, that may be just wishful thinking.
