— MMAFighting.com (@MMAFighting) April 17, 2022
Silva is coming off a unanimous decision win over Wu Yanan at UFC Vegas 51 last April 16th. The victory ended a two-bout winless streak for the Brazilian who figured in a majority draw with Montana De La Rosa in February 2021 and dropped a unanimous decision to Manon Fiorot eight months later at UFC Vegas 40.
The 30-year-old from Minas Gerais, Brazil is a former Batalha MMA women’s bantamweight champion who earned her UFC contract with a technical submission win over Mayana Souza at the Contender Series Brazil 1 program. Silva won two out of her first three UFC bouts before her two losses in 2021. Overall, she has a record of 8-2 with one knockout and five submission victories.
This will mark the sixth time in seven UFC bouts where Silva has opened as the betting favorite. She opened at -200 odds and closed at -145 during her UFC Fight Night 170 loss to Maryna Moroz in 2020. Silva was a sizable +280 betting underdog during her defeat to Fiorot.
