- The Minnesota Timberwolves have been given a -425 odds of making the playoffs outright this season.
- At 31-28 on the season, Minnesota is just 2.5 games behind the Denver Nuggets for the 6th spot in the Western Conference.
- The Timberwolves are just 2.5 games away from cashing the OVER of their regular season win total prop bet.
Not much was expected of the Minnesota Timberwolves this season and after starting the year with a 4-9 SU mark, the oddsmakers seemed correct with their preseason assessment of the Wolves.
The Timberwolves opened with the second-longest odds to win the 2022 NBA title at +25000 at the best sportsbooks. They were also given only a 6/1 odds to make the playoffs this season.
But the young Wolves have proven the bet makers wrong, at least up until the All-Star break. Not only are the Wolves above the .500 mark, but they are also very well in a position to make the playoffs.

According to the latest playoff odds from the best NBA betting sites, the Timberwolves have a -425 odds to make the playoffs outright. That’s currently the second-shortest odds to take the 6th spot in the Western Conference, behind only the Denver Nuggets who are listed at -2000.
The Nuggets are the current 6th seed in the West with a record of 33-25 SU, just 1.5 games back of the 5th seeded Dallas Mavericks who are currently at 35-24 SU at the All-Star break. The T-Wolves are occupying the 7th spot with their 31-28 SU record and they are just 2.5 games behind the Nuggets and four games back of the Mavericks.
However, the Timberwolves have a tougher remaining schedule than both the Nuggets and Mavericks and even the 8th seeded L.A. Clippers who are only two games behind them in the Conference team standings.
Minnesota has the 6th toughest remaining schedule with their remaining 23 opponents having a combined winning percentage of .516. Denver, Dallas, and the Clippers only have the 23rd, 19th, and 18th hardest remaining schedule.
T-Wolves Have Surpassed Last Season’s win Total
The Minnesota Timberwolves won their 23rd game of the season last night…matching last season’s total.
It took 46 games to get to 23 wins this season.
It took 72 games to get there last season.

Last season, the Timberwolves only had 23 wins in 72 regular season games. This year, Minnesota won its 23d game in just 46 games, doing so in late January. With 31 wins at the All-Star break, the Timberwolves are just 2.5 games from hitting their regular season total of 33.5 wins set by the best NBA sportsbooks.
Minnesota still has upcoming games against the Orlando Magic, Houston Rockets, OKC Thunder (2 games), Blazers (2 games), and Washington Wizards so it won’t be a surprise if they hit the over on their win total.
The Timberwolves have not made the playoffs since 2018. They were listed as -900 favorites NOT to make the playoffs this season and a +600 odds to enter the postseason. There’s no question that they have exceeded expectations at least up to the All-Star break.
Minnesota’s 31 wins this season are also already more than their win total in 17 seasons in their franchise history. Regardless of how this campaign unfolds, this has been a very successful season for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
