- Nikola Jokic has pulled away from his closest rivals in the NBA MVP betting odds boards at the best NBA betting sites.
- Jokic’s odds moved from +275 to over +300 after putting a stamp on his impressive season by becoming the first player in NBA history to record 2000 points, 1000 rebounds, and 500 assists in a single season.
- The Denver Nuggets have clinched the 6th seed in the Western Conference despite playing without Jamal Murray the entire season and Michael Porter Jr. for most of the campaign.
Nikola Jokic has gone from making a strong case to win a second consecutive NBA MVP award to separating himself from the rest of the field.
Jokic surged to the top of the NBA betting boards at the end of last month when a straw poll vote saw him beat Joel Embiid and Giannis Antetokounmpo by a comfortable margin.
At the same time, Jokic had single-handedly led the Denver Nuggets to the 6th seed in the Western Conference despite not having Jamal Murray for the entire regular season and Michael Porter Jr. for most of the campaign.

Jokic has been nothing short of spectacular this season. He is the first player in 50 years to rank in the Top 10 in points, rebounds, assists, and field goal percentage. He is also the first player in NBA history to average 27/14/8. Currently, he ranks 1st in the league in Player Impact Estimate, Player Efficiency Rating, Win Shares, Box Plus/Minus, and Wins Over Replacement Player.
The reigning MVP also topped a recent mock MVP vote conducted by ESPN, getting 62 of a total of 100 votes, edging out Embiid and Antetokounmpo. The last four winners of that straw poll have gone on to win the award, including Jokic himself last season.
And as if all of the above are not impressive enough, Jokic added another accomplishment during Thursday night’s game against the Grizzlies, putting himself in the record books as the first player in NBA history to record 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, and 500 assists in a single season.
To illustrate how remarkable that feat is, Wilt Chamberlain missed it by 8 points in 1967, Oscar Robertson came up short by 15 rebounds in 1961, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar lacked 87 assists in 1975. Jokic? He accomplished it with still one more regular season game left to play for the Denver Nuggets. MVP? By a mile, or so the oddsmakers say.
Jokic Pulling Away from Embiid, Giannis
After making history Thursday night, Nikola Jokic is the favorite to be named the NBA’s Regular Season MVP ?

After Thursday’s history-making performance, Jokic pulled away from Joel Embiid and Giannis Antetokounmpo on the odds boards. Listed at the +225 to +275 price range at the best NBA sportsbooks before the game, Jokic further distanced himself from the field with his current +333 odds via FoxBet while Embiid and Giannis continue to trail him at +225 and +700, respectively.
Jokic is also now listed at -300 at BetMGM with Embiid at +275 and Antetokounmpo at +700. He is also at -330 via the FD Sportsbook, ahead of Embiid’s +300 and Giannis’ +800.
PointsBet USA even has shorter odds for the Nuggets’ unicorn at -350 with Embiid farther at +300 and Giannis still at +700. Caesars Sportsbook currently has the shortest Jokic odds at -400 with Embiid behind him at +300 and Antetokounmpo in the third spot at +700.
The NBA MVP betting market is still very much open for bettors who want to get a piece of the betting action before Sunday’s finale. For those who want to take a chance on Embiid, he’s got good value at plus money odds. Then there is Giannis who is at a healthy longshot price. But all things considered, laying the price on Jokic is probably the best bet right now.
