With the Big Ten and Pac-12 announcing that they are canceling their 2021 college football season, Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence also solidified his position as the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy this season. The Tigers’ QB is a heavy chalk in the Heisman betting at +200 with expected rivals like Justin Fields eliminated from competition. Lawrence was also named as the ACC Preseason Player of the Year.
Lawrence threw a total of 3,665 passing yards with 36 touchdowns last season. He has improved his passing yards, touchdown totals, and completion percentage from the previous year. With the way he continues to develop, there is no reason to thing that’s he going to take his foot off the gas pedal this year, especially since he is also touted to be the top overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Clemson running back Travis Etienne finished behind Lawrence in the ACC Preseason Player of the Year voting. The 21-year old Etienne is the ACC’s all-time career TD leader and career rushing TD leader. He ended his junior season with 1,614 rushing yards and a conference best 19 rushing touchdowns.
