Futures Betting Wimbledon Championship

  • Novak Djokovic is the heavy betting favorite to win the 2022 Wimbledon men’s singles tournament.
  • Spanish teenager Carlos Alcaraz has the second-best odds to win at +450.
  • 2022 French Open winner Rafael Nadal is third in the Bovada odds board at +700 odds.

With the third tennis grand slam just around the corner, the futures betting odds for the 2022 Wimbledon men’s singles tournament are in the spotlight.

According to the best tennis betting sites, former world no. 1 Novak Djokovic is the heavy betting favorite to win at the All-England Club. At online sportsbook Bovada, Djokovic is listed at -125 odds, the only player to have minus money odds to win the tournament.

Djokovic at Wimbledon

It’s no surprise why Djokovic is heavily favored to win at the All-England Club. The 20-time Grand Slam winner has been very dominant in the grass-court grand slam but it hasn’t been talked about much.

Djokovic has won five out of the last seven installments of the Wimbledon men’s singles tournament, including the last three and he’s won here six times overall in 16 appearances. The Djoker has a 79-10 all-time record at Wimbledon or an incredible 89% winning percentage in the tournament.

The 35-year-old Serbian was barred from defending his Australian Open title to start the year. He then yielded the no. 1 ranking when he lost in the quarterfinals at the Dubai Open. Djokovic then skipped the Indian Wells and Miami Opens, again due to COVID-19 vaccine restrictions. At the French Open, he lost to eventual champion Rafael Nadal in a high-level quarterfinals match. Although Djokovic has dropped to no. 3 in the latest ATP rankings, there’s no question he’s still one of the top players in the game.

Dream Big or Go Home

19-year-old Spanish sensation Carlos Alcaraz is 32-4 this year and has won four ATP titles, including the hard court played Miami Open. Alcaraz has never made it past the quarterfinals in any grand slam tournament and was eliminated in the second round of his first and only Wimbledon appearance so far last year. Despite being the 5th seed, the Spaniard has the second-shortest odds to win this year’s tournament at +450.

Recent French Open winner Rafael Nadal has the third-best odds to win the 2022 Wimbledon men’s singles tournament at +700. Nadal won a record-extending 13th title at Roland Garros earlier this month. Nadal has won twice in England but has been without a title here since 2010. He has a 53-12 record or 82% win rate at this tournament.

Italy’s Matteo Berrettini gas the next-best odds to win at +1000. The 26-year-old became the first Italian to play in a Wimbledon final, doing so last year when he lost to Djokovic in four sets. Alexander Zverev, Dennis Shapovalov, and Stefanos Tsitsipas are all pegged at +1200 while Felix Auger-Aliassime is the last player with odds shorter than +2000 at +1400.
