With the Bengals’ defense focused on not letting Cooper Kupp go off, Beckham was a value bet in the First TD scorer prop bet. And true enough, OBJ proved his worth and validated his mid-season signing:

The Most Popular Super Bowl Prop Bet

The first touchdown scorer was the most popular prop bet at BetMGM and Cooper Kupp was the betting favorite at +500 followed by Cam Akers and Joe Mixon who were both listed at +800. Odell Beckham Jr. came in 4th at +900 but OBJ received the most bets and was the biggest liability at the said sportsbook. Bengals Won the Coin Toss

The Cincinnati Bengals won the coin toss after Matthew Stafford called for tails. Cincinnati opted to defer, giving the Rams the first crack at offense. However, Los Angeles failed to score on their first possession and was forced to punt. The Bengals first drive also ended in futility as they failed to convert on 4th and 1 and gave the ball back to the Rams.

Los Angeles started at their own 49-yard line. Their first play was a one-yard rush by Akers. Then Matthew Stafford scrambled for 7 yards on 2nd and 11. Stafford then picked up the first down at the Cincinnati 24 with a 20-yard pass to Cooper Kupp. Darrell Andrson then had a four-yard run followed by a 3-yard catch to move the Rams to the Cincinnati 17.

On 3rd and 3, Stafford fired a 17-yard pass which Odell Beckham Jr. caught at the endzone for the first score of the game. However, Beckham left the game in the second quarter with a no-contact knee injury and finished with 2 catches on 3 targets with 52 yads and the first TD of the game, thereby cashing the First TD prop bet at +900 odds. Beckham was also a +140 to be an Anytime TD scorer at the best NFL sportsbooks so that prop bet cashed too.
