  • Online sportsbook Bovada has opened the odds for Aaron Rodgers to be moved before the 2021 NFL Trade deadline.
  • According to Bovada, Rodgers is a -3500 betting favorite to be traded and a +900 to stay in Green Bay.
  • Green Bay’s Super Bowl odds tumbed to +1800 at BetOnline after they were upset as 4-point spread favorites against the New Orleans Saints in Week 1.

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers ironed out their differences before the start of training camp and Rodgers is committed to leading the Packers this season.

However, after their 2021 campaign started on the wrong foot, rumors are putting the relationship to the test once again. Online sportsbook Bovada is one of the parties adding fuel to the speculations.

The sportsbook recently opened a betting market on a possible Aaron Rodgers trade before the deadline. According to Bovada, Rodgers is a -3500 favorite not to be traded before the 2021 NFL season trade deadline. He is however a +900 at the said sportsbook to be dealt before 4 pm of November 2nd.

Rodgers’ implied probability to be dealt before the trade deadline is just 10%. But the mere fact that these rumors persist may mean something.

Substantial Trade Offer After the 2021 Season

According to a Sunday report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Denver Broncos remain interested in Rodgers and would make a substantial trade offer for him after this season.

The Broncos and Rodgers were tightly connected during the offseason as Denver was the odds on favorite (+500) at BetOnline to land Rodgers if the Packers traded him. It was even reported that a deal between the two teams was “ as close to a done deal as it can be” before the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. The rumors moved Denver’s Super Bowl LVI odds to 20/1 from 60/1. But the talks dissipated over the following months, and Rodgers ended up returning to Green Bay.

But while Rodgers and the Packers fixed their differences and re-negotiated a new contract, the two parties agreed to revisit a trade if Rodgers wants out after the current season. Could it be possible that either or both parties are thinking about advancing their timeline, especially after how the team opened their season?

Green Bay’s Super Bowl Odds Tumble

After Green Bay’s 38-3 defeat as four-point betting favorites against the New Orleans Saints, the Packers’ Super Bowl LVI tumbled across the best NFL betting sites. At BetOnline, the Packers went from 11/1 to 18/1. Green Bay has also faded to +1600 at Bet365 although the likes of FanDuel, Caesars Sportsbook, and PointsBet still have them at +1400. However, Green Bay is out of the Top 5 in most of the top NFL betting sites.

Like his team’s chances, Rodgers’ MVP odds also succumbed after their disastrous start. The reigning MVP went from +1000 to +1600 at DraftKings and dropped to +1800 from +1100 at BetMGM. Rodgers is currently listed in the 10th spot at the MVP betting boards of BetOnline.ag with a +2000 price.

Packers’ head coach Matt LaFleur said that his team was “absolutely embarrassed” by the Saints but Rodgers was unfazed saying it was just one game and they still have 16 left to play. However, if Green Bay continues to stumble and Rodgers’ struggles persist, a trade may not be out of the equation this season.
