- The Phoenix Mercury are just one-point underdogs for Game 3 and just a +180 bottom dog to win their semi finals series against the Las Vegas Sun.
- Phoenix blew out Las Vegas 117-91 in Game 2 behind 37 points from Diana Taurasi.
- In the other semifinals matchup, the Chicago Sky are a +200 to win their series and +7.5 point underdogs in Game 3 against the Connecticut Sun.
The Phoenix Mercury continue to rise from the ashes.
Phoenix started the year with a 9-10 record but went on fire after the season returned from the Olympic break. Phoenix won 10 straight games before losing to the Sun. But by then, they had gotten back on track. Phoenix has the fifth-best odds to win the WNBA title at +900 via BetMGM and entered the playoffs as the 5th seed.
Now, the Mercury are in the semifinals and have forced a 1-1 tie against the 2nd seeded Las Vegas Aces with Game 3 of their series set for Sunday. Phoenix has also closed the gap in the series odds and are just one-point underdogs to take a 2-1 series lead.

After losing Game 1 96-90 as six-point betting underdogs, the Mercury stormed back to tie the best-of-five series by blowing out the Aces 117-91 in Game 2 last Thursday night. Just like in Game 1, the Mercury entered the game as six-point underdogs but Phoenix delivered a record-breaking performance.
The Mercury got off to a fast start by opening the game on a 13-2 run. They shot 84.2% and built a 37-20 lead at the end of the first quarter. After squandering a 10-point first-quarter lead in Game 1, this time they did not let up and never looked back.
Brittney Griner scored 16 of her 25 points in the opening period as Phoenix set a WNBA playoff record with 68 first-half points on 76.5% field goal shooting. Diana Taurasi, playing in only her third game back after suffering a sprained left ankle, scored a playoff career-high 37 points by making a career-best 8 three-pointers in 11 attempts.

The Mercury entered the series with only the third-best odds to win the WNBA championship at +425 at DraftKings. The Connecticut Sun are the odds on favorite to win it all this season at +140 while the Aces are second at +190 and the Chicago Sky at the bottom of the odds board at +700.
However, both series are now tied at 1-1 after the Sky upset the Sun 101-95 as 7.5 point underdogs in Game 1. Game 3 of that series is also on Sunday with top-seeded Connecticut listed as 3.5 point spread and -165 Moneyline favorites to take a 2-1 series lead. The Sun are also still the -240 odds on favorite to win the series and advance to the Finals. Chicago is a +145 to win Game 3 and a +200 to win the series.
Meanwhile, the best WNBA betting sites see the Mercury as the bigger threat to their higher-ranked opponent. Phoenix is just a one-point spread and a +105 Moneyline underdog against Las Vegas. The Mercury are also just a +180 betting underdog to win the series with Aces currently listed as the -160 chalk.
