Dos Anjos has not fought since defeating Paul Felder at UFC Vegas 14 in November 2020. The win was RDA’s first at lightweight since 2016. The former UFC lightweight king moved up to welterweight in 2017 after suffering back-to-back losses to Eddie Alvarez and Tony Ferguson.
RDA won his first three bouts at the new weight class but after losing to Colby Covington in a challenge for the interim welterweight title, he dropped three of four fights which forced him to move back to lightweight, where he ruled as champion in 2015. The 37-year old Brazilian is past his prime but is looking eyeing one more title run before hanging up his gloves. Dos Anjos has a record of 30-13 with five knockouts and 10 submission wins.
Playing the underdog role though isn’t Dos Anjos’ favorite thing. RDA was the betting underdog on three out of his last four losses. He was +122 when he fought Covington, a +270 when current welterweight champion Kamaru Usman beat him and closed at +104 in his most recent defeat against Leon Edwards.

Fiziev meanwhile, is fresh off a spectacular knockout win over Brad Riddell at UFC Vegas 44. The 28-year old Azerbaijani-Krgyzstani fighter recorded only the 13th wheel kick KO in UFC history against Riddell while also picking up his fifth consecutive victory to move up to no. 11 in the UFC lightweight rankings.
Attaman is a former world Muay Thai champion who fought for Road FC and Titan FC before joining the UFC in 2019. After suffering his first career loss during his UFC debut against Magomed Mustafaev, Fiziev has strung up five consecutive wins, with his last four bouts earning him either Fight of the Night or Performance of the Night honors.
Fiziev has been favored in all but one of his UFC bouts. The only time that he saw the plus money sign next to his name was when he fought Marc Diakiese in July 2020. Fiziev won that bout via unanimous decision.
