The Ravens are coming off a historically unlucky season where 25 players were on the injured list by the end of the season. According to Football Outsiders, Baltimore lost a record 191.2 games due to injury in 2021, the most ever since the site has been tracking such statistics. Yet despite their personnel struggles, they were still contenders midseason before another run of bad luck, this time with losses in close games.
Baltimore lost its last six games of the regular season, including five losses by three points or fewer. Three of those losses were by one point and their total losing margin during that five-game span was 8 points. To think that the Ravens didn’t have former MVP, Lamar Jackson, during that stretch gives high hopes for Baltimore with a healthy Jackson this year.
Not only that. Although Baltimore traded WR Marquise Brown, tight end Mark Andrews is coming off a monster campaign. 2021 first-round pick Rashod Bateman could be due for a break-out year and the Ravens also upgraded their defense in a big way by adding Marcus Williams to solidify a secondary that should have a healthy Marcus Peters and Marlon Humphrey this season. So over or under 9.5 wins for the Ravens? It’s easy to say why bettors at Caesars are hammering the OVER.
