Shane Burgos Wins Back-and-Forth War Versus Billy Quarantillo

Burgos heads to this bout after defeating Billy Quarantillo in a back-and-forth war at UFC 268 last November 16, 2021. That win snapped a two-bout losing skid for Burgos who lost back-to-back Fight of the Night winners against Josh Emmett and Edson Barboza. Overall, Burgos is 7-3 in 10 UFC bouts.

The 31-year-old from Bronx, New York began his MMA career at Xtreme Caged Combat, Ring of Combat, and Cage Fury Fighting Championships. Armed with an undefeated 7-0 record, he joined the UFC in 2016. He won his first three bouts before suffering his first-ever career loss against Calvin Kattar at UFC 220 in a bout that won him another Fight of the Night award. Overall, Burgos has a record of 14-3 with five knockouts and five submission wins.

Burgos has opened as the betting favorite in all but one of his bouts. The only time he had the plus money sign written next to his name was when he opened at +135 against Cub Swanson in 2019. Hurricane has never closed as the betting underdog in his entire MMA career. His opening odds of -150 is the third-longest as the odds-on-favorite.

Jourdain has won consecutive bouts for the first time in his UFC career. The 26-year-old from Montreal, Quebec in Canada submitted Lando Vannata in his most recent bout at UFC Vegas 52 last April 23, 2022. One bout before that, he defeated Andre Ewell via unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 45 last December 18, 2021.

A former double champion at the TKO major league MMA promotion, Jourdain joined the UFC in 2019 and opened his UFC career with a 2-3-1 record, losing to Desmond Green, Andre Fili, and Julian Erosa. Overall, Jourdain has a record of 13-4 with eight knockouts and four wins by way of submission.

The Canadian had opened and closed as the betting favorite in each of his last four bouts, winning three of four. Jourdain was the +550 betting underdog when he fought Green and was also the 180 bottom dog when he lost to Andre Fili in 2020. He was also the -200 betting favorite during his loss to Erosa.
