Dodgers Wire to Wire Regular Season Favorites
— ESPN Los Angeles (@ESPNLosAngeles) October 28, 2020
The Dodgers were wire-to-wire regular season betting favorites to win the World Series this season. They opened as +400 preseason favorites and saw their odds shorten to +375 at the All-Star Break. By September, the Dodgers’ World Series odds continued to improve at +200, and even when they were relegated to the NL Wild Card game, Los Angeles was still the +400 odds on favorite to repeat as MLB champions
After beating the San Francisco Giants in the NLDS, Los Angeles became +130 favorites to win the World Series. Even after losing Game 1 of the NLCS, the Dodgers were still the +160 odds on favorite to win it all this season. It wasn’t until the Braves went up 2-0 that they became the new World Series favorites. That was short-lived as Los Angeles went from +850 to the +200 favorites again after winning Game 3.
But the Braves refused to go away. Despite the Dodgers being a -225 betting favorite to tie the series in Game 4, Atlanta pushed the Dodgers to the brink of elimination with an authoritative 9-2 win in Game 4. With the victory, the Braves shortened to +170 to win the World Series with only the Astros ahead of them at -105. The Dodgers dropped to +700 as they faced a 1-3 deficit.
Los Angeles Stays Alive
— USA TODAY Sports (@usatodaysports) October 22, 2021
Los Angeles stayed alive by winning Game 5 11-2, and cutting the Braves’ lead down to 3-2 but still, they’re in a tough spot. The Dodgers are +190 underdogs to win the NLCS but are -167 betting favorites to win Saturday’s Game 6 and send the series to a winner-take-all Game 7. Max Scherzer will be matched up against Ian Anderson on Saturday.
As of the latest betting odds at the BetOnline App, the Houston Astros who are up 3-2 on the Boston Red Sox and are -375 favorites to win the AL Pennant, are the current World Series Betting Favorites at +105. Houston is a -109 betting favorite to win Game 6 with Luis Garcia facing Nathan Eovaldi on the mound on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Braves who are a -195 to win the NL Pennant are second in the latest World Series odd boards at +250 while the Dodgers have dropped to third at +350. The Boston Red Sox currently has the longest World Series odds at +800 via online sportsbook BetOnline.
