  • Kroenke’s Denver Nuggets are a +1500 to win the 2022-23 NBA championship.

Billionaire Stan Kroenke is on a winning streak like no other.

Last February, the Los Angeles Rams won Super Bowl LVI. Last June 19th, the Colorado Mammoth won the 2022 National Lacrosse League Championship. On Sunday, the Colorado Avalanche won the Stanley Cup.

Most people know Kroenke as the owner of the NFL’s Rams. However, his company Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, also owns a handful of other professional sports teams, including the Mammoth and Avalanche.

So in a span of 135 days, Stan Kroenke has won three professional sports titles, including two major ones.

First Sports Team Owner to Win Two Major Pro Sports Titles in Same Calendar Year

The Rams opened with a +2000 odds to win Super Bowl LVI on January 20, 2021. They entered the 2022 season with a shortened odds of +1400 on September 12, 2021, moving from 9th favorite to 6th on opening night. The Rams entered the postseason at +900 and were a +200 to win the Super Bowl during the NFC title game. They then hit Super Bowl LVI as the -200 betting favorites to beat the Cincinnati Bengals.

Just four months later, the Colorado Avalanche won the Stanley Cup after opening as the +600 favorites. Those odds shortened to +550 last January, down to +450 the following month, then +400 in March, and +375 in April. Colorado improved further to +325 in the first round of the playoffs, +200 in Round 2, and +120 in the Conference Finals. The Avalanche hit the Stanley Cup Finals as the -190 favorite to beat the Tampa Bay Lightning.

In between the Super Bowl and Stanley Cup Finals, there was the Colorado Mammoth who opened the 2022 National Lacrosse League season at +2100 odds to win the NLL Cup. The Mammoth entered the 2022 season championship-less since 2006. Last May, the Mammoth’s odds shortened to +400, behind only the Buffalo Bandits’ -143 and the San Diego Seals’ +250. Entering Game 3 of the NLL Cup, the Mammoth were a +125 against the Bandits. They won.

21-Year Wait is Over

The Avalanche’s Stanley Cup win ended a 21-year drought for the franchise. That victory came at the heels of the Mammoth winning its first NLL Cup in 15 seasons. When the Rams won the Lombardi Trophy at Super Bowl LVI, that win also snapped a 23-year drought for the organization which last won the NFL title at Super Bowl XXXIV in 1999. Now that brings us to ask: What about Kroenke’s other pro sports teams.

Kroenke’s NBA team, the Denver Nuggets, has produced the league’s MVP in the previous two seasons. However, the Nuggets lost in the second round in 2021 and were ousted by the eventual champions Warriors in the opening round this past season. The Nuggets have never played in an NBA Finals and opened at +1500 odds, tied for the 5th shortest to win the Larry O’Brien trophy next season.

At MLS, Kroenke also owns the Colorado Rapids who finished 1st in the Conference and had the second-best record overall in the league last season. The Rapids have opened with a +3300 odds to win their first-ever MLS Cup. Meanwhile, Kroenke’s English football team Arsenal has opened with the 6th shortest odds to win the Premier League at +6600.
