  • Phoenix is a massive -600 to win their second round series against Dallas.

After falling from the top of the mountain during their first round series against the New Orleans Pelicans, the Phoenix Suns are back as the odds on favorites to win the 2022 NBA championship.

Phoenix struggled with Devin Booker sidelined but since D-Book returned in the close-out Game 6, the Suns have seen their title odds improve. The Suns reclaimed the pole position with a wire-to-wire win over the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night to win Game 1 of their Western Conference semifinals series.

Three More to Go

Phoenix wasted no time on Monday, racing to a 9-0 lead to start the game, and never looked back. They shot 50.5% from the field, hitting more than half of their field goal attempts for the 7th consecutive playoff game, and won the battle of rebounds 51-36 to claim their 10th consecutive win over the Mavericks, including the regular season. With the victory, the Suns need three more wins to advance to the Western Conference Finals for the second straight season.

Deandre Ayton led the Suns with 25 points and 8 rebounds while Devin Booker added 23 points with 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Meanwhile, Chris Paul had a modest night with 19 points and 3 assists in only 29 minutes of playing time and Cam Johnson added 17 off the bench for the Suns who finally showed out in the playoffs by displaying the dominance they had during the regular season.

Dallas led by 17 after three quarters and looked headed to an easy win. Instead, they barely covered the six-point betting spread as Luka Doncic tried to will the Mavs back in the game. Although he failed, Doncic easily cashed the over of his 30.5 points scoring prop with a 45-point game. Luka also produced 12 rebounds and 8 assists while shooting 15-30 from the field.
