- The Brooklyn Nets have won seven straight games and have covered the spread in all games.
- James Harden is averaging 31.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 11.4 assists in his last five games played.
- The Nets have also closed the gap between them and the Lakers in the NBA Championship oddsboard.
Things are looking good for the Brooklyn Nets and their backers right now.
The Nets have won seven consecutive games and have moved to within one-half game of the Philadelphia 76ers for the top spot in the Eastern Conference. Brooklyn has also rewarding its backers by going a perfect 7-0 against the betting spread during their current winning streak.
Brooklyn is just 17-16 ATS overall this season so it’s not that they have killed the spread really. But if you have been betting on the Nets lately, your bank account should look much better.
The Nets went 5-0 SU on their most recent road trip. They were underdogs in three of those games- twice against the Lakers and once versus the Suns and they easily covered the spread in those game. Straight up, the Nets are 8-3 in 11 games as the betting underdog. They are also 8-3 ATS as underdogs, including 5-1 as home underdogs. So while the oddsmakers haven’t been too high on them just yet, the Nets are starting to reap rewards for Brooklyn bettors.
Harden Trade Starting to Reap Rewards
James Harden leads the way for the Nets with 29 PTS, 11 REB & 14 AST to increase their win streak to seven games! Can anyone beat the Nets in a 7 game series?

The Nets went 7-6 in their first 13 games with James Harden and critics were quick to say that the Nets won’t succeed with three ball-dominant players in one team. But the Nets, and Harden especially, have proven them wrong. Very, very wrong.
Even with Kevin Durant nursing a hamstring injury, the Nets swept their recent road trip, picking up wins over the Lakers, Clippers, and Suns who are ranked 2-4 in the West. Harden is averaging 25.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 11.6 assists per game in Brooklyn but in his last five games, the 2018 MVP is putting up 31.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 11.4 assists per game with two triple-doubles.
Sure, those numbers are expected to decline when Durant returns but Harden has proven that despite all the drama in Houston and the conditioning issues thrown at him, he’s still the James Harden of old who can put up ridiculous numbers across the board if and when needed. With Harden in terrific shape, the Nets are one superstar better than any team in the NBA.
Nets on the Move
Let’s take a look at the NBA Championship odds. 👇

The Nets were already among the top preseason betting favorites to win the 2021 NBA championship with the return of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. But after trading for James Harden last month, the Nets have overtaken the L.A. Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA championship odds boards of the best NBA betting sites.
The defending champions Los Angeles Lakers are still the odds on favorite to repeat as champions but in the last couple of weeks, the Nets are on the move and have narrowed the gap. Online sportsbook Bovada currently has the Nets listed at +333 and the Lakers having the slightly shorter odds at +240. But with Brooklyn surging and Los Angeles faltering, those lines could change soon.
Brooklyn is expected to get Kevin Durant back before the All-Star break. The Nets are also poised to make big moves before the trade deadline after waiving Shumpert, Roberson, and Vonleh. Sure, defense continues to be an issue for them but no doubt the Nets are on the rise. And bettors looking to make money off the Nets may think hard about getting into the action now.
