Tiger and Charlie Woods are Longshots at the PNC Championship

Tiger And Charlie Woods PNC Background

  • Justin and Mike Thomas have opened as the +180 betting favorite to win the PNC Championship for the second straight year.
  • Matt and son Cameron Kuchar have the second best odds to win at +650.
  • Team Woods, composed of Tiger and son Charlie, are 6th at a longshot of +1000.

All eyes will be on the Ritz Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida for the 2021 PNC Championship where Tiger Woods will play his first tournament since figuring in a near-fatal car accident in February 2021.

Woods will be teaming up with his 12-year old son Charlie in the “expanded Father-and-son” tournament which has been a staple at the Ritz Carlton Golf Club.

But while Charlie grabbed all the attention last year, Justin Thomas and his father Mike went on to win the event and will be back to defend their title this year.

Tiger and Charlie Woods are Longshots

Last year, Tiger and Charlie had the 2nd best odds to win the PNC Championship at +600. They finished 7th. This year, with Tiger admittedly nowhere near PGA Tour level after his accident, Team Woods has opened as a longshot +1000 to win the event.

Defending champions Team Thomas are the odds on favorite to win the tournament at +180 at BetOnline. Matt Kuchar and 14-year old son Cameron, who finished T-5 in last year’s tournament are the second favorites at +650. They are followed by Team Furyk which is composed of 2003 U.S. Open winner Jim Furyk and son Tanner.

Team Cink and Team Stenson are both listed at +900. Regan Cink used to carry dad Stewart’s bags on the PGA Tour but now he will try to replicate the feat of older brother Conor who teamed up with dad to win this event in 2013. Meanwhile, if Henrik can find his touch on the greens, Team Stenson could be the sleeper pick here with son Karl a great player in his own right. John and Little John Daly are also listed at +1000.

Tiger Prop Bets at BetOnline

As with any event with Tiger Woods in it, the PNC Championship isn’t short of Tiger Woods odds. At BetOnline, the over/under prop bet for total holes until Team Woods hits a birdie or better is O/U 2.5. Meanwhile, the O/U for total eagles for Team Woods is set at 1.5 and the total for birdies in Round 1 is at 9.5 and the total for total birdies or better in the tournament is 18.5.

At the same online sportsbook, Team Woods is a -300 NOT to finish in the Top 4 and just a +235 to do so. Team Woods is also a massive -1500 favorite NOT to shoot the lowest tournament round and only a +800 to accomplish it.

Team Woods is also a -145 betting favorite NOT to record a bogey or worse, with the YES currently listed at +125. They are, however, a -145 favorite to record an eagle or better during the tournament and a +115 not to do so. As far as winning the tournament is concerned, Team Woods is a -2000 NOT to win the PNC Championship and just a +1000 to win. Team Woods is a long shot to win the PNC Championship but looking back, what do you think were the odds we’d see Tiger play this week after that freak car accident?
