The Tampa Bay Buccaneers got their game back after an emotionally charged Week 4.
Tom Brady’s return to New England took a lot out of him and the Bucs that they barely survived a New England Patriots team that was playing without the pressure they carried. Brady took care of business early, breaking Drew Brees’ passing record in the first quarter. But the Bucs never got going and needed a last-minute kick by Ryan Succop to pull off the 19-17 win.
Enter Week 5 and the Buc returned home to face the struggling Miami Dolphins. For sure, Miami was in a bad spot as New England didn’t just want to win, they wanted to impress after a subpar performance against the Patriots. They did.
Tampa Bay won 45-17, breaking the game wide open in an explosive fourth quarter display. Tom Brady did GOAT things after his worst game of the season and quickly emerged as the new MVP betting favorite at online sportsbook PointsBet.

Brady made it look easy on Sunday as he completed 30 of 41 passes for 411 yards with 5 touchdown passes and no interceptions for a 144.44 passer rating. With all his accomplishments, it marked only the first time in Brady’s 22-year career where he has thrown 5 TD passes with 400+ passing yards, proving once again that he continues to defy Father Time at the age of 44.
The reigning Super Bowl MVP has also thrown 200 straight passes without a pick, setting a new Tampa Bay record and breaking the 199 which well, he set last season in his first year with the Buccaneers. It’s also the 9th 5 TD game of his career, tying Peyton Manning and moving within two of Drew Brees’ NFL record of 11. Incredibly, four of those 5 TD games by Brady have come after turning 40-years old.
With that performance, Brady became the outright MVP betting favorite at PointsBet at +450. Erstwhile favorite Kyler Murray remained at +550 while Patrick Mahomes is now third at +600. The rising Justin Herbert continues his ascent at +800 and is in the fourth spot right now. Meanwhile, the foursome of Dak Prescott, Josh Allen, Aaron Rodgers, and Matthew Stafford is listed at +1000.
