On Saturday, two of the most popular fighters in MMA square off for the inaugural “Baddest M-fer On the Planet” belt. In the co-main event, two exciting strikers face off for the chance to move up the middleweight rankings. Gastelum vs. Till odds are now available and many are flocking to online sportsbooks to place their wagers.
For a time, it seemed as if the co-main event was scrapped. Today, we’ll look at how this entire situation unfolded. We’re also breaking down the odds for this bout and discussing each fighter’s best road to victory. Let’s get into it!
Darren Till Finally Arrives in NYC – The Fight is On
Back in August, reports surfaced that former welterweight title contender Darren Till was moving up in weight to take on current middleweight contender Kelvin Gastelum. Till’s jump in weight was a welcome sight for many fans. His drastic weight cut to 170 pounds was thought to be one of the worst in MMA.
Of course, the timing of this fight seemed a little unusual. Darren Till was once thought of as the future of the sport. His dynamic striking game earned him 5 quick wins in the UFC and a title shot against then-champion Tyron Woodley. Many UFC betting sites listed Till as the favorite in this bout, yet he fell short in his first championship bid via second-round submission.
The loss did little to discourage the Liverpudlian. Woodley had beaten some of the best fighters in the sport and Till, it was argued, simply met him too early in his career. Unfortunately, he was next scheduled to take on Jorge Masvidal in London. Till was knocked out cold in front of his home country, leading some to speculate whether the hype surrounding this young fighter was warranted or not.
Till then announced he was jumping up in weight. In his first bout at 185 pounds, he’ll be taking on Kelvin Gastelum, the man who very nearly defeated current champion Israel Adesanya back in April.
Just yesterday, news came out that Darren Till was having a difficult time entering the US due to visa difficulties. Many felt that the fight would need to be rescheduled. Fortunately, the MMA gods came through.
Darren Till has landed in NYC, I’m told.

As Ariel Helwani points out, Till has arrived in NYC and the fight will go ahead as planned. One of the best online sports betting sites is now offering some fantastic Gastelum vs. Till odds.
Gastelum vs. Till Odds – Who’s Entering As the Favorite?
We’re now just two days away from the fight. Based on everything we know, both fighters are on track to make weight. MMA fans can now head to Mybookie.ag, a popular online US sportsbook offering odds on this exciting middleweight bout.
Unsurprisingly, Gastelum comes in as the significant betting favorite. He proved just how good he really is in his most recent bout against Adesanya. Amazingly, he gave the current champ a much better contest than previous champ Robert Whittaker did.
Gastelum also has the perfect style to give the Englishman fits. Woodley exposed Till’s inexperience on the ground. Kelvin is a college wrestler with several submission wins on his resume. Masvidal proved that elite boxing can take Till out. Gastelum is one of the best boxers in the UFC.
At the moment, Mybookie.ag lists Kelvin Gastelum’s odds to win this bout at -292.
Some, however, feel that the Gastelum vs. Till odds here are off.
Till is still one of the most dangerous fighters in the world. During his 6-fight run to the title, he showed off a truly unique kickboxing game. He even beat Stephen Thompson (who’s widely regarded as one of the greatest kickboxers of all time) on the feet.
The move up in weight will almost certainly benefit Darren. He’ll be competing at a more natural division which should give him more time to work on his skills, rather than his weight cut.
Oddsmakers still feel he’s a longshot. Mybookie lists Till’s odds to beat Gastelum at +232.
My Prediction: Gastelum Wins Via 1st Round KO
Till can beat a lot of the top fighters at 185 pounds. This bout against Gastelum just doesn’t seem to make sense right now. He’s taking on a fighter with a more well-rounded skill set, not long after suffering the first major knockout of his career.
Gastelum should take this one early. Till will look to pressure early as he always does, yet Kelvin should be able to counter one of the Liverpool native’s big left hands with a quick knockout shot of his own.
The Gastelum vs. Till odds available through Mybookie.ag might change. If you want to take advantage of the odds while they’re hot, place your wagers now!
