- Bare-knuckle boxing has been growing considerably more popular over the past few years.
- Some of the biggest names in combat sports are now competing in this combat sport.
- Reports have confirmed that we’ll see Dada 5000 in bare-knuckle boxing later this month.
Back in February of 2016, Dada 5000 took part in one of the most unusual MMA bouts of all-time against Kimbo Slice. He’s stayed away from the fight game since that time and most felt his competitive career was over. New reports are now indicating we’ll see Dada 5000 in bare-knuckle boxing sometime this year.
It’s exciting news for fans to hear. These types of novelty bouts are growing more popular every single year. Today, we’ll discuss the details of Dada’s move into the bare-knuckle fight game.
Let’s get into it!
Bare-Knuckle Boxing is Growing More Popular Every Year
The Bare-Knuckle Fighting Championship was founded and launched back in 2018. At that time, little was known about this new fight promotion. Bare-knuckle boxing has been around for centuries, yet most still feel it’s a fringe sport that only takes place in the underground.
Times are beginning to change, though. The BKFC has been growing in popularity since its founding. Today, some of the most recognizable names in combat sports are signed to the BKFC’s roster.
BKFC President Dave Feldman knows that names sell tickets. He has worked extremely hard to sign former UFC and Bellator fighters to the promotion lately. Thiago Alves, Gabriel Gonzaga, and Chris Leben have all been competing in this new fight league.
This promotion has been working hard to put on world-class events this year. Back in February, the promotion held a card featuring the debut of Paige VanZant. On April 16, an exciting event featuring the heavyweight champion Joey Beltran will be taking place.
Bare-knuckle boxing seems like it’s here to stay. It won’t be surpassing major MMA promotions such as the UFC and Bellator anytime soon. The BKFC seems to have a loyal fan base, though, and has been expanding rapidly over the years.
The BKFC isn’t the only major promotion trying to capitalize on the popularity of bare-knuckle boxing. More of these promotions are popping up all the time. We’re now hearing about a new league putting on an exciting card this month!
Here’s What We Know About Dada 5000 in Bare-Knuckle Boxing
There was a time when backyard fighting was taking the internet by storm. Kimbo Slice became a household name due to his success in the backyard fighting game. He eventually moved over to MMA and became a major star in the sport.
Dada 5000 was another well-known name in the internet amateur fighting game. He acted as a sort of promoter and put together many of the backyard bouts seen on YouTube. Dada’s feud with Kimbo Slice was well-known and fans were excited when they finally stepped into the cage against one another in 2016.
Slice won that fight via 3rd-round TKO. Fans later learned that Dada suffered a heart attack during the bout. Obviously, it seemed as if his fighting career was over. That does not appear to be the case anymore.
Reports have confirmed that fans will soon get to see Dada 5000 in bare-knuckle boxing. He’ll be competing under the BYB (Back Yard Brawls) promotion on April 17. Interestingly, Dada 5000 is one of the co-founders of this new fight promotion.
A New Promotion BYB announced today a Bare Knuckle event with former PRIDE/Strikeforce/Bellator veteran Sergey Kharitonov faces former UFC/KSW James McSweeney in April 17th

An opponent for Dada 5000 has not yet been revealed. Given his most recent foray into the combat sports world, it seems unlikely that he will be taking on any young contenders. Hopefully, his performance here ends up going better than the one in Bellator a few years ago.
The sport of bare-knuckle boxing continues to grow. It seems likely that we’ll see more of these promotions launching over the next few years. Stay tuned for updates on this situation over the next few days!
Now is the Perfect Time to Bet on Vettori vs. Holland!
Combat sports as a whole are growing considerably more popular. For a time, MMA was one of the only major sports that was being featured live on television. The UFC has been putting on major events on a regular basis and has another great one set to take place on Saturday!
This card has faced some shake-ups. The original main event between Marvin Vettori and Darren Till was scrapped after Till suffered an injury. Kevin Holland stepped in to take his place against Vettori.
BetOnline is the best place to bet on this entire event! There are some fantastic odds being offered on the card. Most are curious to see where the fighters in the main event stand with the oddsmakers.
For now, Marvin Vettori comes into this bout as the -340 favorite. He is considered by many to be the dark horse of the division and seems determined to earn a rematch with Israel Adesanya. Vettori is elite everywhere and had a full training camp leading into this bout against Holland.
Kevin Holland is coming off a disappointing loss to Derek Brunson in his last bout. He’s looking to bounce back in a big way and agreed to take on Marvin on just a few days’ notice. For that reason, he is listed as the +265 underdog in this bout.
