Yankees’ Future Odds Move Up After 22-8 SU Start

New York Yankees Futures Betting Odds

  • The New York Yankees are off to a 22-8 SU start, the 9th time in franchise history they’ve begun a season with 8 losses in their first 30 games played.
  • The Yankees reached the World Series in their previous eight 22-8 starts and won the Commissioner’s Trophy seven times during that stretch.
  • New York currently has the second-best odds to win the World Series at +750.

The New York Yankees swept the Toronto Blue Jays in their two-game set on Wednesday but aside from taking two in a row against their division rivals, the Yankees also won for the 15th time in their last 17 games played, have the best record in baseball, and are off to a strong start that has won them the World Series before.

Best Record in Baseball

With Wednesday’s win, the Yankees improved their MLB-best record to 22-8 SU. This marks only the 9th time in franchise history where they’ve lost only 8 times during their first 30 games of the season and in the previous 8 instances, the Yankees made it all the way to the World Series and won The Commissioner’s Trophy in each year, except 2003.

As of Thursday’s games, the Yankees have a four-game lead over the Rays in the AL East where they are also 6 games ahead of the Blue Jays and 11.5 up on the Red Sox. The Bronx Bombers are also two games ahead of the Houston Astros and 2.5 games up on the Los Angeles Angels in the American League standings. Overall, they hold a 1.5 game lead over the Dodgers and Mets for the best record in baseball.

The Yankees have lost just twice in their last 17 games played and won 11 consecutive games at one point. They have not dropped a series since going 1-2 against the Baltimore Orioles in their opening series of the season. Of course, baseball plays a 162-game season and we are only 18.5% into the current campaign. But the Yankees’ strong start has also improved their futures odds.

Latest World Series Odds

The Yankees opened with the second-best odds to win the American League at +500, with only the Houston Astros ahead of them with their +375 odds. Six months and 30 games into the season later, the Yankees are now co-favorites to win the AL with the Toronto Blue Jays at +375. Houston has dropped to the third spot with their +550 odds.

Aside from moving to the top of the AL betting boards, the Yankees also moved up in the World Series futures odds boards. They are now listed at +800 via the BetOnline App after posting the best 30-game record in the league this season.

They are also even with the Mets at +800 via PointsBet USA, behind only the Los Angeles Dodgers who are at +450. At Caesars Sportsbook, the Yankees are listed at +750, their shortest current Wold Series Odds, along with the Mets, with only the Dodgers ahead of them at +450 odds.
