A Monday night NFC showdown takes place from historic Lambeau Field to close out another week of NFL action as the San Francisco 49ers head north to take on the Green Bay Packers.
Right now, these are teams trending in vastly different directions as ever since the Niners lost their starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, it’s been all about preparing for 2019. C.J. Beathard has been an awful replacement, and the Niners aren’t exactly contenders anymore. They’ll be facing a banged-up Packers squad, but one which still has big plans in a competitive NFC North. At 2-2-1, Green Bay knows all wins are crucial from here on out. Keep reading on below the odds for full analysis and a full game breakdown for the Niners/Packers in Week 6 action.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Green Bay Packers Pick:
Though the Packers enter Week 6 well-positioned for yet another deep run, you still have to wonder about the health of their franchise quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He clearly isn’t at full strength, and despite never being listed on the injury report, you just know he’s battling through a tough leg injury most likely. His reads have been off, and he clearly isn’t as mobile as he normally could be. Last week against the Lions, Rodgers struggled at times – and that isn’t a very good stop unit. The Niners aren’t a very stout defensive unit, but do enough things well that it could in fact trouble the future Hall of Famer. Given his situation, the Packers can score, but they’ll be using a heavier run approach than they normally would.
On the other side of the ball, expect the chains to be similarly stagnant on Monday evening. C.J. Beathard is the master of the checkdown pass, and in Monday’s contest – he’s expected to be without his main receiver of these short passes in running back Matt Breida. Breida is injured, and catching passes isn’t really in the repertoire of backup runner Alfred Morris. The Niners just don’t have dynamic playmakers, and with Beathard having downfield difficulties, it’s tough to see them putting up points on any team right now. The Packers also boast a stellar front and they should be able to get by the Niners’ offensive line, and force Beathard into some hurried attempts.
With Rodgers basically playing on one leg, and the Niners basically having a college-calibre quarterback, I can’t see all that many points scored in this Monday night matchup. Rodgers should be able to do enough to secure a comfortable victory, but double-digit spreads can get tricky. Though I don’t often play many totals, I anticipate the best value in this contest being on under the posted total of 46.5 Neither offense is functioning right now, and look for defence to win out on Monday Night Football.
