Cincinnati Bengals vs Detroit Lions NFL Pick – Week 6

The NFL is set up with another great slate of football throughout Week 6. Twelve games are up on the board throughout Sunday. One of these matchups will be between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Detroit Lions. These two teams have had opposite starts to the season and will look for a big win in this one. This game will kick off at around 1:00 PM Eastern time.

Cincinnati has opened up this season with a record of 3-2, which has them in a tie for second place in the AFC North. The Bengals are coming off a tough loss to the Green Bay Packers. Joe Burrow had two passing touchdowns, but two missed kicks by Evan McPherson allowed for the Packers to earn a 25-22 win in overtime.

The Lions have put up a record of 0-5 so far this season, which has them in last place of the NFC North. Detroit has had some tough breaks this season, which have led to some heartbreaking losses. The most recent loss was to the Minnesota Vikings. The Lions took a 17-16 lead with 37 seconds left. Kirk Cousins came down the field though to allow Minnesota to kick a go ahead field goal and win 19-17.

These two teams are on opposite sides of the standings, but it could easily be reversed. Detroit has had a few games where they were in it until the end, which they could have won. The Bengals have snuck some wins out as well. Both teams have promising teams though and will look for a win in this one. If either team can grab an early lead, it could be enough for the win on Sunday.

Bengals vs. Lions NFL Game Preview

The last time these two teams met up was in Week 16 of the 2017 NFL season. Matthew Stafford threw a touchdown pass in the opening quarter, but it was not enough. Andy Dalton had a touchdown pass as well, while Randy Bullock went 4-4 on field goals. Cincinnati was able to earn a big 26-17 win at home in this one.

These two teams have met up 12 times throughout their histories entering play on Sunday. Cincinnati has earned a record of 9-3 throughout these matchups. The Bengals have also won six in a row against Detroit. Cincinnati will look to keep it going in this one, while the Lions will look to earn their first win against the Bengals since 1992.

The last time these two teams met up was a very different look. Matthew Stafford was still the starting QB for the Lions, while Cincinnati had Andy Dalton as their starter. Jared Goff will get the nod under center for Detroit in this one, while the Bengals have Joe Burrow. Both teams have new systems and coaches as well, which should lead to an exciting matchup.

Opening Odds and Line Movement

The spread for this matchup opened up at -3 ½ in favor of the Bengals and has stuck there throughout the week. With this line staying still, I do not expect much more movement before game time.

The over/ under for this game started at 49 points. It has now dropped down to 47 points as the total. This makes sense as the Lions have been in some low scoring affairs and can attack Cincinnati’s offense.

These two teams seem to be far off, but I do not think it is bad as it looks on paper. This makes the line make a lot of sense as both teams look for a big win.

Free Bet and Game Prediction: Detroit Lions +160

These two teams have opened up this season on opposite sides of the standings. Detroit has been very close to earning some wins though and feel like it could be coming any week. I think that the Lions will come out hot in this one as they are coming off a loss and coming back home. If Detroit can come out strong, I think they will have a great chance to earn a win in this one.

Joe Burrow will get the start for Cincinnati in this one. Burrow has thrown for 1269 yards, 11 touchdowns and six interceptions. Jared Goff will get the nod for Detroit on Sunday. Goff has passed for 1303 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions. Both QB’s will look to get going early in this matchup as well as they look for a big win.

The line for this matchup has the Bengals listed as a -3 ½ against the spread entering play on the road. With Detroit coming back home after some heartbreaking losses, I think they will have some fire at home. The Lions do not feel like a winless team and I think that this could be the matchup that they finally breakthrough on. I am taking the value on Detroit.
