The NFL is set up with an exciting Monday Night Doubleheader in Week 13. One of these games will be between the Buffalo Bills and the San Francisco 49ers. These two teams are in the mix for the playoff race in their respective conferences, which should lead to a great game on Monday night. This game will kick off at around 8:15 PM Eastern time on December 7.
The Bills have earned a record of 8-3 throughout this season, which has them sitting in first place of the AFC East. Buffalo was able to earn a win last week after their bye week. The Bills will look to make that back to back as the playoff race heats up. Buffalo has been a strong team overall and will look to earn a tough win on the road in this one.
San Francisco has put up a record of 5-6 so far this season, which has them sitting in last place of the NFC West. The 49ers have struggled with injuries this season, but still find themselves in the race for a playoff spot. San Francisco will have to play in Arizona in this one as they cannot play at home. The 49ers will look to earn a big win against a tough Buffalo team to keep their playoff hopes alive.
These two teams are in the hunt for a playoff spot this season, which should lead to a great game on Monday night. The Bills are comfortably in the top spot in their division, while the 49ers are on the outside looking in. Both of these teams are coming off nice wins in Week 12 and will look to carry that momentum over into this one.
The Bills are coming off a matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers last week. Justin Herbert had a passing touchdown, while Joshua Kelley had a rushing touchdown. It was not enough for the Chargers though. Josh Allen had a passing and a rushing touchdown on the day, while Cole Beasley tossed a passing touchdown as well. Buffalo was able to pull off an impressive 27-17 win.
San Francisco met up with the Los Angeles Rams in last week’s game. Cam Akers had a rushing touchdown, while Troy Hill returned a fumble for a touchdown. The Rams could not pull off the win though. Javon Kinlaw had an interception returned for a touchdown, while Raheem Mostert had a rushing touchdown. Robbie Gould kicked two field goals in the fourth quarter to lead the 49ers to a 23-20 win.
These two teams are coming off big wins in Week 12 after having a bye week in Week 11. Both teams will look to carry that momentum over into this one. The 49ers defense has continued to help provide scoring when their offense is struggling, which they might need again this week. If Buffalo can avoid turning the ball over though, it could give a big edge to the Bills.
Josh Allen is the starting Quarterback for the Bills this season. Allen has had a strong season so far, which has attributed to the Buffalo’s success. He has thrown for 3028 yards, 22 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. He has rushed for 311 yards and 6 touchdowns as well. Allen went 18-24 for 157 yards, 2 total touchdowns and an interception.
Nick Mullens is starting under center for San Francisco with Jimmy Garoppolo out once again. Mullens has thrown for 1642 yards, 6 touchdowns and 7 interceptions on the season. He has put up a 2-3 record throughout his starts. Last week Mullens went 24-35 for 252 yards and an interception in the winning effort over the Rams.
The Bills have the edge at Quarterback in this one with Josh Allen as the starter. Allen has had a lot of success this season, but still has some shaky moments. He will have a tough test in this one against the 49ers defense. If Allen can rise to the occasion though, I think he will outduel Mullens for a big win. Mullens will need to find a way to punch it into the endzone, which he has struggled with at time this season.
Offense vs Defense
Buffalo’s offense has been a key part to their success throughout this season. The Bills have scored 299 points, which is 10th in the NFL so far this season. Buffalo has also gained around 4097 yards of offense, which is 11th in the league. The Bills have struggled on defense at times though. Buffalo has given up 282 points and 4104 yards to opposing teams, which is 18th and 21st in the NFL.
The 49ers offense has not been able to click this season, which is due to the injury issues they have faced. San Francisco has scored 261 points and gained 3992 yards of offense, which is 20th and 14th in the league. The 49ers have held their opponents to 254 points though, which is 11th in the NFL. San Francisco has only given up 3467 yards, which is 6th in the league.
This matchup will be another classic offense vs defense game. The Bills offense has been lethal at times this season and will look to break through on San Francisco. The 49ers will need their offense to move the ball though to take some of the pressure off the defense. If Buffalo’s defense can step up and shut down San Francisco, I think it will give their offense a great opportunity to take over.
The Bills and the 49ers are both coming into this one after a big win last week. I expect both teams to come out strong in this one as they look for a big win on Monday night. San Francisco unfortunately has lost home field advantage in this one with it being in Arizona. I think Buffalo’s offense will be able to overpower the 49ers in route to a big win.
BetOnline has this game listed as a pick against the spread. This gives an even line to both teams in this game. I agree with this line as Buffalo is traveling for this one. The Bills have been the better team this season though and I think they will take over on Monday night. If Buffalo’s defense can step up, I think they will be able to pull off the tough victory over the 49ers.
