The Baltimore Ravens will be hosting the Denver Broncos in a key AFC matchup on Sunday. The Ravens enter the game with a 3-1 record (2-2 ATS) and the Broncos are 2-2 (2-2 ATS). The game will get underway at 1PM EST.
Denver comes into the game following a dramatic win over Tennessee last week. The Broncos won the game late by a score of 26-20. The team has been riding a great passing attack led by QB Kyle Orton. With 1419 yards in 4 games, Orton is leading the NFL in passing. He has thrown for 6 touchdowns against 3 interceptions for a stellar 96.3 passer rating. The offense lacks for balance as they lead the league with nearly 340 passing yards per game but are dead last in running the football, averaging a measly 55 yards per game on the ground. The team needs running back Knowshon Moreno back from injury, as he is questionable for Sunday. Without him, they are playing Laurence Maroney who has been terrible this season.
Meanwhile, Baltimore is coming into this matchup with 2 straight divisional wins, including a hard fought victory over Pittsburgh 17-14 last week. The team is getting it done on defense, giving up just 235.8 yards per game overall which is good for 2nd in the NFL. They have the stingiest pass defense in the league, allowing just 119 yards per game. QB Joe Flacco has been Jekyll and Hyde this year. For the year, he has 920 passing yards and 5 touchdowns, which is solid, but he has also thrown 6 interceptions. Many of the picks have come at bad times and really hurt Baltimore this season.

Broncos vs. Ravens Prediction for Week 5:
Game Total Prediction (TOP PLAY) – The total is set fairly low in this one, as it is in most Ravens games. Baltimore does a great job at shutting down the pass, which is the one thing Denver does well on offense. That will be the key matchup to consider. There are a few trends to look at in this game. The first is that the total has gone under in 12 of Baltimore’s last 16 games as the favorite. Meanwhile, the Broncos have seen 12 of their last 15 games go under the total after they have won the previous game straight up. I expect the Ravens D to keep Kyle Orton in check in this game and keep it a typically low scoring Ravens game.
Top Play Prediction: UNDER 38.5 points
Spread Prediction – The two teams met last year in Baltimore and the Ravens won the game going away. Baltimore is a very tough team to play at home, as they have gone 42-18-1 ATS in their last 61 games as a home favorite. Denver is 1-4 in their last 5 ATS against teams with a winning home record. This is a small trend that shows Denver struggles when playing teams with legitimate home field advantages. Baltimore has such an advantage and should roll in this game.
Prediction: RAVENS -7
