The Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers meet for the second straight year after an upset at Soldier Field in 2020. The Bears came up big with a 20-19 win, as they were able to limit Tom Brady and the Bucs’ offense.
Brady passed for 253 yards with a touchdown. Brady didn’t cause the Buccaneers to lose, but it was a pedestrian start for him. The offense didn’t explode which has become commonplace with Tampa.

Khalil Mack recorded 2 sacks to throw Brady off his targets. Tyler Johnson led the Buccaneers in receiving in that one with 61 yards on 4 receptions.
Note that Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown were not playing against the Bears last year. That’s a huge omission for the Buccaneers. He will have more weapons to work with, and the Bucs are at home this time.
In their most recent attempt this season, the Buccaneers came up with a 28-22 win in Philadelphia versus the Eagles. Brady had an alright performance, nothing special with 297 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception.
I should say at least by his standards it was a very vanilla performance. After the Buccaneers struggled last year against this Bears team, expect Brady and company to play with a chip on their shoulder in Week 7.
The Bears are coming off a 24-14 loss against the Green Bay Packers. It snapped a small two-game winning streak for the Bears, who had a 24-14 win over the Detroit Lions and Las Vegas Raiders by a score of 20-9.
This season is a feeling out process for Justin Fields. He’s gaining experience without too many expectations placed on him. The next step is going to be putting better offensive talent around him. Allen Robinson is a fine receiver, but it’d be nice to have a top-tier option on the other side of Robinson. Head below for our free Bears vs. Buccaneers pick on October 24, 2021.

Bears vs. Buccaneers Prediction:
Tom Brady was roughed up last year, and I’m sure that he didn’t forget about what happened in that performance. Brady isn’t a guy that is going to forget about a lousy outing. With a healthier offense to work with in 2021, expect Brady to have a good chance to ding a Bears’ defense that has been reliable this season.
The Bears are seventh in the NFL with 330.8 yards allowed per game. They’re going ninth in the league with 218.7 yards allowed per game through the air. Having said that, when the Bears have played capable offenses, they haven’t looked so great.
The Rams opened the season with 34 points against the Bears in a 34-14 win. Matthew Stafford hit the Bears for 321 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Browns had some success as well, with 26 points a few weeks later in a 26-6 win. Baker Mayfield threw for 246 yards with a touchdown, while Kareem Hunt gashed Chicago for 8.1 yards per carry and a touchdown.
Tampa welcomes the Bears to Florida with an offense avearging 426 yards per game for third in the NFL. They are also third in the league with 32.5 points scored per game. Brady leads the league with 340.7 passing yards per game. At home in Tampa, the Bucs have recorded 443.3 yards per game.

The only concern with the Buccaneers is their banged up secondary. Tampa has been unable to have the same secondary on the field in consecutive weeks. Todd Bowles has been forced to mix things up.
The Buccaneers signed Richard Sherman out of desperation because of the injuries piling up and now he’s absent. The injuries are reflected in their numbers against the pass. The Bucs have conceded 280.8 yards per game through the air.
They’ve been tough to run the ball on, but there are going to be openings for Justin Fields to find plays downfield. I’m confident that the Bucs do damage to the Bears’ defense, so it may not require a big offensive showing to help put this total OVER the number.
I’m looking at a 33-20 final score in favor of the Buccaneers at home in Tampa. The Bucs’ problems in the secondary should flare up, though not enough for the Bears to pull off an upset. It should be enough to help get this one OVER, though.
