Lucas Oil Stadium is the site of a key AFC matchup this Sunday. The Indianapolis Colts will play host to the Kansas City Chiefs. Indianapolis comes into this contest 2-2 (2-2) ATS, while the Chiefs are 3-0 (3-0 ATS). Kickoff is set for 1PM EST.
Kansas City is the lone undefeated team left in the NFL at 3-0 and are coming off of their bye week. Prior to the bye, the Chiefs picked up wins over San Diego, Cleveland and San Francisco. The team has played some stellar defense en route to their good start to the season. Kansas City ranks second in the NFL, allowing just 12.7 points per game on the season. The rushing defense is 5th in the NFL, giving up just 75 yards per game on the season. On offense, the team features a two-headed monster in Thomas Jones and Jamaal Charles at the running back position. The team ranks 3rd in the league with over 160 yards per game rushing. The key for them is to establish the ground game and neutralize the other team’s rushing attack.
The Colts are 2-2 coming into this game, and are not used to having such a slow start. They lost last week at the final whistle to the Jaguars and have looked up and down so far this season. Many are wondering if this is finally the end of the Colts’ long run of success. The team does still feature a scary offense that is putting up 411 yards per game. This is good for 3rd in the NFL. Their 29.2 points scored per game is 2nd in the league. QB Peyton Manning just keeps on dominating with 1365 passing yards and 11 touchdowns versus just one interception. As is often the case with the Colts, the defense just has not been strong enough. They are giving up 367 yards per contest (24th in the league) and 23 points per game, which is 23rd in the NFL.

Chiefs vs. Colts Prediction for Week 5:
Game Total Prediction (TOP PLAY) – The Colts generally seem to get into shootouts since their defense struggles to stop anyone. On top of that, they still have the best quarterback in the league in Peyton manning and can put up a lot of points. In Colts games this season, there has been an average of over 52 points scored. They have a way of putting up some points with their passing game and getting into a track meet, especially at home. Over is 8-3 in the Colts’ last 11 games overall. Expect some points to be scored in this one.
Top Play Prediction: OVER 45.5
Spread Prediction – The Chiefs come into this game as the lone undefeated team but are being questioned as to whether or not they are legitimate. If they were not playing a desperate Colts team at home, I would like them a lot more to win the game outright. As such, I think the Colts need this game badly and will unleash their passing attack. Indy is 9-4-1 in their last 14 games ATS as favorite.
Prediction: INDIANAPOLIS -7
