Dallas Cowboys taking on the New York Jets in the Empire State—“America’s Team” facing off against the city that was hit by one of the biggest tragedies in American history only 10 short years ago. Thinking about this game surely gives fans everywhere chills, never mind that it’s opening day at the New Meadowlands Stadium with all eyes on Rex Ryan, to see what he has in store for us this year with his highly touted Jets. On top of that, in week 1 he’ll be going to battle against brother, Rob Ryan, the newest defensive coordinator for the Cowboys this season. As the Jets look to get over the hump of being always second best to Belichick and his Pats, Ryan has hardly held back about his feelings towards them—is Rex all talk or are we going to see something more out of the Jets this season?

Cowboys vs Jets Pick Against The Spread:
This is a very important game for not only the Jets but the people of New York as well, significant meaning to this game being the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks. You have to believe that the Jets are playing for more than just a W in the win column. Expect to see the Jets come out flying early in this match up and get to Dallas’s depleted defense with an all out attack. By adding Burress, this offers a lot more options for Sanchez on the wide out position. Plax is used to catching under passed balls, as he’s accustomed to catching passes from Eli Manning, and Sanchez is definitely a step (or two up from that). Dallas’ defense struggles a great deal with the run, and combining that with the weapons the Jets have with their run and pass options, this should be a tough team to stop for the Cowboys. Some may argue that Romo has a better option in the wide out position, of course that’s if they’re not fighting over who gets the glory. The Jets are a get down to business team and only have one concern—winning, an enormous contrast to “America’s Team”, full of prima donnas.
Interesting point for the Cowboys this season will be how Felix Jones adjusts to life as the go to guy for running the ball. With Marion Barber shipped off for greener pastures, it will be on Jones to show he can be the quarter stone needed to be a go to back. Learning from Barber in his time with Dallas and McFadden during his time at Arkansas, the knowledge is there, but only time will tell if he can make his mark on the NFL. It’ll be an excruciating task to try and get into the run game against the Jets defense this Sunday. They practice week in and week out against their own running attack, which is on a totally different scale than what Coach Garrett has put forward for the Cowboys to run with. Expect lots of trouble situations for the Cowboys this week, plenty possession for the Jets, and lots of 3 and outs for the Cowboys, as they struggle to find holes in one of the top 5 defenses in the game today.
Jets to win this one at home, in an exceptionally monumental game, on a date that will no doubt honor the nation’s greatest heroes.
