The 2010 NFL Preseason Hall of Fame Game will be held on Sunday, August 8th in Canton, Ohio. The two teams that’ll be playing in this year’s game are the Dallas Cowboys and Cincinnati Bengals. It is the first time in over ten years that either of these two teams got to play in this game.
If you’re a football fanatic like me then you’ll be ecstatic to know that football is finally coming back to the big screen. Preseason is never anything to get overly excited about because most of the starters won’t receive any field time during these games.
In the beginning of the game we can expect to see 1-2 offensive drives by each team with their starting line-ups on the field, but don’t expect it to last. The preseason is all about building chemistry with the team and allowing non-starters the chance to earn a spot on the starting roster. We will also be treated to some great rookies in this game although I don’t expect to play much in this game because neither coach is going to want to risk an injury.
Coming into the game I would think that the Cowboys have an advantage even though they’re the underdog. Emmitt Smith will be getting inducted into the Hall of Fame before the game and that should give Dallas a lot of motivation to win the game.

Cowboys vs Bengals Predictions for Hall of Fame Game (August 8th):
It’s very hard to predict who is going to win a preseason game, but my money is going to be on Dallas Cowboys. They should want to come out and win the game on the night that Emmitt Smith is being inducted into the Hall of Fame. Cincinnati will definitely be considered the home team in this game and I expect a lot of their fans to travel to Canton to watch the game live.
I really think that the over/under of 33 points is way too low and should go way over the total. The offenses will be getting used to each other since it’s the first game of the preseason, but the defense should also be shaky. I expect Romo and company to score a quick TD early in the game on Sunday and then the back-ups should be able to penetrate the endzone at least a couple more times in the game.
The Bengals will be trying to build some chemistry on offense as well and I think they’ll be able to score early with their starting players. The Bengals have Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco on the receiving core this season and they should be able to stretch defenses completely apart.
It should be a close game on Sunday, but I think that the Cowboys will find a way to squeak through this game (+123) with an early preseason victory. The over/under seems like a really easy bet with a total of 33 points and I’m going to take the bait. I really think that the score should go over the total even though it’s the first game of the season.
