Following a ridiculous Sunday of NFL football, it will be interesting to see if this Monday night contest between the Cowboys and Cardinals can come anywhere close to matching the other action of Week 3. It included some awful beats (Rams and Lions – sorry!) and some unbelievable endings and performances. This league is as unpredictable as they come sometimes, but hopefully we can try to exploit some edges on the Week 3 Monday nighter. As always, read on below for some game analysis and an official betting selection between the Cowboys and Cardinals.

Cowboys vs. Cardinals Pick:
The Cowboys were exposed last week in their dismal showing against the Denver Broncos. Their once heralded offensive line got mauled and it’s clear it isn’t what it used to be. They’ve got holes up front and as a result can’t open up enough lanes for Ezekiel Elliott or adequately protect quarterback Dak Prescott. Unfortunately for Dallas, things won’t get easier on the road to Arizona. The Cards possess a ton of good rushers within their front seven on defense, guys who feast on opposing QB’s. Both Robert Nkemdiche and Markus Golden should be able to get their games on track on Monday vs. Dallas.
With Elliott bottled up, look for the Cardinals to heavily focus on stifling the aerial attack from Dallas. Dez Bryant will again be blanketed by a top cornerback – this time it’ll be Patrick Peterson. Beyond that, there isn’t really anybody on the Cowboys that really instills much fear into any defense. Prescott won’t have the time and space he enjoyed last season, and on the road look for the sophomore to struggle in back-to-back weeks.
The Cardinals themselves also have some holes and blocking issues on their offensive line, but Dallas’ pass rush remains highly questionable. Carson Palmer isn’t all that mobile from the pocket, though he should have a bit more time and space compared to last week against the Colts. When the veteran does get room to look downfield, that’s when Arizona’s offense can truly take flight. Dallas looks to likely be without Orlando Scandrick again and that’s an issue. When you look back and see what Denver did to this secondary – you’ve got to like Carson Palmer’s chances to move the chains on Monday night.
I disagree with the way the line is moving in this one. Dallas went from 3-point to 3.5-point favourites on Sunday evening likely based on last season’s reputation. This isn’t the same group and look for the Cardinals’ to win the battles at the line of scrimmage. Look for Arizona to not only cover the number on Monday evening, but also send their rabid fans home happy with an outright victory.
PICK = Cardinals +3.5 (-120)
