The southeastern coastal Miami Dolphins will make a long trip north to Lambeau Field for a Sunday afternoon affair with the banged up Green Bay Packers. The Dolphins have not been to Lambeau for 8 years, a game in which they lost 24-10. The (2-2) Miami Dolphins will look to take advantage of their week off and exert from of their energy on the limping (3-2) Green Bay Packers, kickoff slated for 1 PM EST. The Pack come into this one with a hole slate of injuries, TE Jermichael Finley will not play for a while due to a knee injury he sustained last week and QB Aaron Rodgers will be playing under the watchful eye of team doctors as he was concussed last week in Washington. The Packers have won six straight at home dating to last season, and the have Dolphins lost their last two visits to Wisconsin in 1997 and 2002.

The Miami Dolphins headed into the bye week with an embarrassing home loss to the New England Patriots and currently sit 3rd in the highly contested AFC East. Miami’s defense was stingy the first two weeks, allowing a total of 20 points in victories at Buffalo and Minnesota, but then AFC East contenders New York and New England combined for 72 points in their wins in south Florida. The Patriots did much of their damage on defense and special teams in a 41-14 victory Oct. 4, becoming the first team in NFL history to get a touchdown from an interception return, a blocked field goal return and a kickoff return in the same game. The Dolphins promptly fired special teams coach John Bonamego and spent their bye week trying to correct the problems. QB Chad Henne has been fairly inconsistent this year, but coach Tony Sparano has given the Michigan product a vote of confidence and believes that he is the right man to lead this group to the playoffs. The Dolphins have been perfect thus far on the road sporting a 2-0 record but will need all three units of the team to show up at Lambeau if they have any aspirations of remaining perfect when traveling.
The Green Bay Packers were bruised, beaten, and scarred in Washington last Sunday and they will return home with a host of uncertainties heading into Sundays tilt against Miami. QB Aaron Rodgers has not been given the green light and is still uncertain whether or not he will be able to play on Sunday after experiencing a concussion against the Redskins last week. Linebacker Nick Barnett (wrist) and tight end Jermichael Finley (knee) had surgery this week, and a few of their teammates may join them on the sidelines Sunday. Rodgers and NFL sacks leader LB Clay Matthews are the two most important players in a banged-up group that also includes DE Ryan Pickett, TE Donald Lee and OL Mark Tauscher. Cornerback Al Harris and safety Atari Bigby, meanwhile, have yet to play this season and RB Ryan Grant has already been lost for the entire season. The Packers were early season Superbowl favorites but there inconsistent play has analysts skeptical if this team has it in them to reach Dallas in February. The offense has been sporadic and the defense is giving up 212 yards though the air on average per week. With the Bears getting Cutler back, the Vikings getting the threat of Moss running deep, and the Lions picking up steam, the Packers need to avenge these inconsistencies and earn a win on Sunday to keep pace in the black and blue NFC North.

Dolphins vs Packers Prediction for Week 6:
Game Total Prediction (TOP PLAY) – The Miami Dolphins travel well and they also don’t forger to bring along the right game plan when they do hit the road. Always, always, always, the best way to win on the road is through your defense. The Fins have played two games thus far on the road and each game has not gotten close to the posted total. They have held the likes of the Bills and Vikings to 10 points each in their own buildings this year. The total has gone UNDER in 11 of Miami’s last 15 games on the road and the total has gone UNDER in 6 of Miami’s last 8 games when playing Green Bay. Green Bay, once feared for their relentless defense, has played extremely inconsistent and have been averaging much lower point tallies then in recent years. In fact, the total has gone UNDER in 4 of Green Bay’s last 5 games. We will consider the Dolphins traveling to Wisconsin and entering into a defensive battle with the cheese-heads.
Spread Prediction – The Packers are a scary group on paper when healthy, they are also very deep on both sides of the ball. The Pack, however, come into Sundays contest with a host of ailments, almost two sides of the ball worth. Green Bay has 19 listed players on their injury report and have the potential for QB Aaron Rodgers, LB Clay Matthews, and TE Donald Lee to be all out nursing injuries. I like how the Dolphins travel and I believe with a weeks rest and an extra week of game planning that they can escape Wisconsin with a victory under their belts. Miami has won 4 of their last 6 games on the road and they have beaten the Pack 6 times out of their last 9 contests. Take a look at snagging the points with the Fins in this one. Cheers!
