Miami Dolphins vs Tennessee Titans NFL Pick – Week 17

The NFL is set up with another great slate of action throughout Sunday. Fifteen games will be up on the board throughout January 2. One of these matchups will be between the Miami Dolphins and the Tennessee Titans. These two teams have been solid throughout this season and will look for a big win. This game will kick off at around 1:00 PM Eastern time.

Miami has posted a record of 8-7 throughout this season, which has them sitting in third place of the AFC East. The Dolphins have won seven games in a row after a 1-7 start to the season. Miami has been one of the hottest teams in the NFL and will look to stay alive in this one. The Dolphins are coming off a Monday night win against the New Orleans Saints and will look to avoid a slow start in this one.

The Titans have put up a record of 10-5 so far this season, which has them in the top spot of the AFC South. Tennessee is coming off a win in their last game, but have dropped three of their last five. The Titans will look to build on that win with a strong performance in this one. I expect Tennessee to come out fast as they try to lock up the top seed in the division.

These two teams have been solid throughout this season and find themselves in the thick of the playoff hunt. The Dolphins have been the hottest team in the NFL this season and will look to grab another pivotal win on Sunday. Tennessee has been hit with some injures as of late and will look to come out strong again in this one.

Dolphins vs. Titans NFL Game Preview

The Dolphins and Titans last met up in Week 1 of the 2018 season. Darius Jennings had a kickoff return for a touchdown and Dion Lewis had a rushing touchdown, but it was not enough for Tennessee. Ryan Tannehill had two passing touchdowns to Kenny Stills. Jakeem Grant had a kickoff return touchdown as well as Miami earned a 27-20 win at home.

These two teams have met up 38 times throughout their histories. The Dolphins lead the all-time series with a record of 21-17 in those games. Miami has won the last two matchups and three of the last four. Tennessee will look for their first win against the Dolphins since 2016. I expect both teams to come out fast as they look for a pivotal win.

These two teams have much different looks from the last time they met up. Ryan Tannehill started the last matchup for Miami and will now get the start under center for the Titans. Tua Tagovailoa will get the start at Quarterback for the Dolphins. Both defenses are also much improved and will look to step up in this one on Sunday.

Opening Odds and Line Movement

The spread for this game opened at -3 in favor of the Titans. This line has shifted slightly to -3 ½ for Tennessee on Sunday afternoon.

The total for this game kicked off at 47 points for Sunday’s matchup. The over/ under has dropped down to 39 ½ points. This line makes sense with both defenses turning in strong performances last week.

The spread for this game makes sense with Tennessee being the stronger overall team this season. The Dolphins have been one of the hottest teams, but have not had the most impressive wins during that stretch. Miami will look for a statement win in this one.

Free Bet and Game Prediction: Tennessee Titans -3 ½ (-105)

These two teams are in the middle of the playoff hunt and will look for a huge win in this one. Miami controls their own destiny if they can win out, while the Titans can lock up the top seed in the division. The Dolphins have been the hotter team as of late, but Tennessee is their hardest opponent in this stretch. If the Titans can control the pace, I like their chances to earn the win.

Tua Tagovailoa will get the start under center for Miami in this one. Tagovailoa has passed for 2339 yards, 15 touchdowns and 9 interceptions on the season. He has also rushed for 89 yards and three touchdowns. Ryan Tannehill will face off against his old team in this one. Tannehill has thrown for 3327 yards, 15 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He also has 265 rushing yards and seven touchdowns.

The Dolphins are coming off a dominant defensive display against the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football. Tennessee is coming off a strong performance as well, but played on Thursday Night. The Titans will look for those extra days of rest and preparation to give them the edge in this one. If the Titans can grab the early lead in this one, I like their chances to earn the win at home.

The Bet
Tennessee Titans -3.5
