Because of the Thanksgiving Thursday schedule for NFL Week 12 I was planning on releasing two separate videos for this week, but today (Friday) I have people at my house and can’t do my normal video recording. So instead of another video for the Sunday DraftKings main slate, I’ve got this article below with my DraftKings NFL Week 12 picks.
Quarterback + Wide Receiver Stack
QB Derek Carr ($6,100) and WR Amari Cooper ($7,700)
At a pretty low price tag on Derek Carr you would think that he is either on the road or at least facing a tough pass defense at home. Neither is true, as the Raiders are hosting the Panthers who are currently giving up the 7th most passing yard against per game. The Panthers defesne will also be without star player Luke Kuechly, which should make things easier for the Raiders offense. Oakland has the third highest implied team total of the slate (26.3) and this game has a total set at 49.5 points.
Carr has been great pretty much all season long, and although he does have some below average fantasy scoring days on his player card this year, he has hit 23 DraftKings points in 6 of 10 games, and has one game with 39.8 points.
Amari Cooper has been a great fantasy scoring WR as of late. These are the DraftKings points he’s put up in his last 6 games: 15, 11, 38, 7, 25, and 30. Only one of those weeks would of really hurt a lineup, and then there are three huge games that could help you win a GPP. This year he has been targeted 9 or more times in 6 of 10 games and no fewer than 5 targets in a single game. He’s an elite receiver in a good match up vs the Panthers, and there is value there at just $7,700.
Another one of my top stacks this week will be Eli Manning and Odell Beckham vs the Browns. Like anytime a team faces the Brown, I get a little worried that they will be up a bunch and stop throwing as much, but I still think Eli could put up big enough numbers in the first three quarters to become a top scoring QB this week.
Devontae Booker ($5,600)
The Broncos will host the Chiefs in a divisional showdown on Sunday Night and it should be a good game. I don’t expect a high scoring affair, and neither do the Vegas oddsmakers with the total set at a very low 39.5 points, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get some fantasy goodness here.
Devontae Booker hasn’t had a monster game yet but this could be a good opportunity for him. The Chiefs rank 27th in rushing yards against per game, and 26th in yards against per rush attempt.
Booker had 19 carries and 6 targets in his first game as the starting running back for Denver, then went on to only get 10 carries and 3 targets in a game that the Broncos were trailing on the road the entire game, and then got another massive workload (24 carries, 2 targets) in their latest game vs the Saints when they lead the majority of the game. With the Broncos favored by 3.5 points I think the game script could help Booker get a lot of action here Sunday night, and I like the value we’re getting at just $5,600 on DraftKings.
Besides Booker there are some elite Running Backs I will try to fit into lineups, including Jay Ajayi vs the 49ers awful run defense, and Melvin Gordon who continues to get a monster workload each week.
DeVante Parker ($4,700)
The Dolphins will host the 49ers this weekend in Miami, and the Dolphins are 7.5 point favorites with a total set at 44.5 points. I mentioned Parker last week in my video for FantasyLabs as a good value play, and again I think he is too cheap this week in a good spot. Over his last two weeks he has seen 8 and 10 targets and put up 18 and 21 DraftKings points. He has been dealing with injuries during the season, but looks healthy now and has a good opportunity vs the 49ers who rank 29th in yards against per play and 22nd in yards against per passing attempt.
Larry Fitzgerald ($7,000)
This game between the Cardinals and Falcons has the highest total of the slate for Sunday, and it would probably be smart to get some exposure to it somewhere if you’re building a few lineups. Maybe my favorite play from the game will be Larry Fitzgerald who has been extremely consistent all season. He has scored double digit DraftKings points in every single game this year, and has been targeted no fewer than 7 times in a game. He has also shown upside with 25 or more DraftKings points in 3 games. The Falcons pass defense hasn’t been awful in terms of yards per attempt, but they are usually in faster paced shootout type games and that leads to them ranking dead last in passing yards against per game. I expect Fitzgerald to have another pretty solid game here in Week 12.
Gary Barnidge ($3,600)
I hoping that most people forgot about Barnidge, as he hasn’t done too much in terms of fantasy scoring this year after a big season last year. With that said he has still scored 10+ DraftKings points in 5 games, and most games weren’t played with Browns QB Josh McCown who loves to target Barnidge. Barnidge has seen 5, 7 and 5 targets in games that McCown thas attempted at least 20 passes. The Browns will host the Giants this weekend, and although the Giants are great against receivers defensively, they rank 21st in DraftKings points allowed to Tight Ends. This could be a good spot to take Barnidge as a value Tight End play on DraftKings.
If you have the salary leftover to spend up at defense I would throw the Broncos into your lineup, as they have shown massive upside in the past – especially when playing at home. Like I mentioned earlier this game has a very low total and the Chiefs aren’t expected to score much. Denver has scored 22 DraftKings points at home twice this season, and 9, 9, 6, and 4 in the others – for an average of 12.6.
The Saints defense isn’t great but they’ve been playing much better this year than last, ranking 25th in yards against per play (32nd last year). They have also been playing better lately compared to the start of the season, and now get a relatively easy match up at home as the Rams are in town. Los Angeles is dead last in points per game, and rookie Jared Goff will be making his first road start. He completed just 54.8% of his passes last week for 134 yards, and although he didn’t turn the ball over he may be playing from behind this week and will be forced to throw down field more – increasing his chances at a turnover or two.
That’s it for my DraftKings NFL Week 12 picks. Hope you have a great weekend – Good luck!
