One of the best long-standing tradition in sport is seeing the Dallas Cowboys play on Thanksgiving Thursday. And while they often have a match scheduled against the Washington Redskins on this day, we’re thankful that today they’ll face off against the Eagles in a battle for NFC East supremacy. It promises to be an excellent match-up today as these are two of the NFL’s top teams and enter in fine form. Both offenses have the ability to be dynamic, and as a result we should see lots of points on the board. Dallas enters fresh off a big comeback road victory against the Giants on Sunday night. Can they carry that momentum over to today? While Philly enters off a relatively convincing victory against the Tennessee Titans. Even with Mark Sanchez at the helm, the Eagles offense is still a threat. It’s going to be a good one, quite likely the best game of them all, so read on below for our analysis and featured wager.

Eagles vs. Cowboys Pick:
Despite all of the fanfare Chip Kelly and his Eagles offense seems to receive, 2014 hasn’t been the best of years when Philadelphia possesses the football. Entering today’s contest, the Eagles sit just 19th in overall efficiency, a far cry from the success they enjoyed the previous season. Sure, they can hit the odd big play, but as far as moving the chains on a consistent basis goes? They struggle in that regard. Even though the Cowboys defense entered the season pegged as one of the worst units in recent memory, they’ve actually been pretty solid this season. Their collection of misfits has worked and should be able to again turn in a solid performance against Mark Sanchez. While Sanchez has fared better than he did in New York, really not by much. He’s committed frequent turnovers and the interceptions he threw last week vs. the Titans allowed them to stay in the game. Dallas possesses a solid pass rush and an opportunistic defense. Bank on them securing a couple of turnovers from the former USC grad.
On the other side of the ball look for Romo and Co. to just keep on rolling. Like the Cowboys, the Eagles too have a bit of a questionable defense that hasn’t fared very well in recent weeks. They’ve had some key injuries at linebacker and as a result, Tennessee’s Delanie Walker put up a monster game from the tight end position last week. Don’t be surprised if Jason Witten fares well also. One big takeaway from Sunday night’s contest against the G-Men is the great protection Romo’s getting right now from his offensive line. Look for that to continue against a depleted Eagles front-seven, and as a result Romo should be able to pick apart Philadelphia’s secondary. If Dallas can keep linebacker Connor Barwin in check, they’re up for a huge offensive outing. The deep balls to Dez Bryant and Terrance Williams will give DeMarco Murray more room for running and completely blow this game wide open.
Bank on both offenses outplaying the defenses and ultimately a lot of points being put on the board. While not much was expected from Dallas this year, here they are looking to go atop the NFC East. They’re a good team on both sides of the football and are the more complete and healthy squad entering today’s pivotal contest. The Eagles are just too mistake prone to trust in a game of this magnitude and look for the veteran presence of Dallas to shine through today. At home, on Thanksgiving, look for the Cowboys to win a tight one, narrowly covering the current 3-point spread.
PICK = Cowboys -3 (-125)
