Philadelphia Eagles vs New York Giants Week 10 Pick – NFL November 15

The NFL is set up with another great slate of action this Sunday. Twelve games will be up on the board throughout November 15. One of these games will be a matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants. These two teams have struggled to open up the season, but are both fighting for the division. This game will kick off at around 1:00 PM Eastern time.

The Eagles have put up a record of 3-4-1 throughout this season so far, which has them sitting in first place of the NFC East. Philadelphia has struggled to get things going this season, but have been good enough to secure the top spot in the NFC East. The Eagles are in a tight race as every other team in the division has two wins. Philadelphia will look for separation with a win in this one.

New York has posted a record of 2-7 so far this season, which has them tied for last place of the NFC East. The Giants are half a game behind the Washington Football Team, since they have played one less game. New York is tied with the Dallas Cowboys, who are also 2-7 on the season. The Giants could get back in the divisional race though with a win in this one to be half a game back on Philadelphia.

The NFC East has not looked good this season with every team posting below .500 records. This means it is up for grabs for anyone, which makes these divisional tilts more important. The Eagles are 2-1 in the division this season, while New York has gone 2-2 in the division. Both teams will look to get a leg up on each other as they meet for the final time this season.

Previous Matchups

The Eagles and the Giants met up once earlier this season in Week 7. The game was in Philadelphia on Thursday Night Football. Daniel Jones threw two touchdown passes on the day, while Wayne Gallman rushed for another. Carson Wentz had a rushing touchdown and two passing touchdowns as he led the Eagles back into it. Philadelphia was able to come from behind to win 22-21.

Philadelphia met up with the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8 before their bye week. Greg Zuerlein went 3-4 on field goal attempts, but that was all the offense the Cowboys could muster. Carson Wentz threw two touchdown passes on the day. Rodney McLeod took a fumble back for a touchdown and the Eagles got a safety as they put up an impressive 23-9 win in this one.

The Giants faced off against the Washington Football Team in Week 9. Alex Smith threw a deep touchdown to Terry McLaurin, while Antonio Gibson had a rushing touchdown. It was not enough for Washington though. Daniel Jones had a passing touchdown and Wayne Gallman rushed one in. Graham Gano went 3-3 on field goals as New York took a 23-20 victory on the road.

Both of these teams are coming into this one off of divisional wins in their previous matchup. The last time these two teams met was off a shortened week on Thursday Night Football. The Eagles erased a 21-10 lead to earn the win in that one. Now Philadelphia is coming off a bye week, which they will look to come out strong and refreshed from.

Quarterback Comparison

Carson Wentz is the starting Quarterback for the Eagles this season. Wentz has struggled a bit throughout this season. He has thrown for 1883 yards, 12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Wentz has rushed for another 202 yards and 5 touchdowns. He went 15-27 for 123 yards, 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in the win against the Cowboys.

Daniel Jones is the starting Quarterback for New York. Jones has not had the best season either. He has thrown for 1878 yards, 8 touchdowns and 9 interceptions on the season. Jones has also rushed for 320 yards this season. Last week, Jones went 23-34 for 212 yards and a touchdown on the day. The Giants will need him to step up in this one.

These two Quarterbacks have not had the best seasons, struggling with interceptions at times. Wentz is coming off a bye week, so he might be more prepared in this one. If Wentz can come out strong in this matchup, it will give a good edge to the Eagles. Jones had a solid week in last week’s win and New York will need him to put up another similar performance in this one.

Defensive Battle

Philadelphia’s offense has not been clicking throughout this season. The Eagles have scored 186 points and gained 2640 yards of offense, which is 24th and 27th in the NFL this season. Philadelphia has allowed 205 points, which is 17th in the league. The Eagles have allowed opponents to gain 2721 yards, which is 10th in the NFL.

The Giants have also not gotten any offense going this season. New York has been able to score 168 points and gain 2684 yards of offense, which are both 31st in the league this season. The Giants have allowed opposing teams to score 219 points, which is 13th in the NFL. New York has also allowed around 3240 yards of offense, which is 15th in the league.

These two teams have been much better defensively throughout this season. The Eagles have been a bit better on offense this season, but not by a lot. Philadelphia will need their offense to step up if they want to win this one. If either team can get the offense going early though, I expect it to be enough to earn a big win on Sunday afternoon.

Pick Overview

These two teams have struggled throughout this season, but I like the Eagles in this one. Philadelphia is coming off a bye, which will give them a good opportunity in this one. Philadelphia barely won in Week 7 against the Giants, but I expect them to come in more prepared. If the Eagles offense can step up, I like their chances to earn a win on Sunday afternoon.

BetOnline has Philadelphia listed as a -4 against the spread in this one. This gives a solid edge to the Eagles on Sunday. Philadelphia has been the better team this season as New York’s only two wins on the season have come against Washington. If Philadelphia can start out hot on Sunday afternoon, I think they will be able to cover against the Giants.
