Week 14 is filled with marquee match-ups and the Eagles/Rams showdown will be no different. Both sit atop the NFC entering game action and though many fans and pundits saw the talent of these sides, nobody could have envisioned either would be entering this week with their current records.
The Eagles are very good on both sides of the football, but Carson Wentz has taken that next step. He’s entered the realm of being an elite QB, and with Philadelphia sitting at 10-2, you can bet they are entering Los Angeles with the thought of being that top seed in the NFC. It is also worth mentioning that I’m certain they’ll be monitoring the Vikings game earlier in the day very closely. It’s that time of the year in the NFL.
For the L.A. Rams, the move west from St. Louis has proven to be a positive one. This young and upstart club enters at 9-3, led by an elite defensive unit and improved play from the young Jared Goff. This game features two of the top young play-callers and it should make for a fascinating affair. As always, read on below the odds for full game analysis and betting predictions.

Eagles vs. Rams Pick:
The Eagles will enter this contest an angry group. Carson Wentz was solid but wasn’t at his best last week in Seattle, and you can bet he’ll be gunning for some redemption in Week 14. Wentz made some uncharacteristic mistakes in Seattle, and he’ll be focused on getting back on track against the Rams.
One thing Philly will need to do is limit the effectiveness of the Rams’ defensive line and pass rush. Easier said than done, but if any team can do it – it’s the Eagles. They are well-equipped along their O-Line to block Aaron Donald and give Wentz the time and space he needs to operate. It will be interesting to see how the Rams react to not generating a steady stream of pressure since it’s such a big part of their defense. With added time, Wentz should be able to pick on the Rams’ corners downfield. Both Alshon Jeffery and Nelson Agholor are in fine form, and Wentz will rely on this duo – especially without tight end Zach Ertz.
On the other side of the ball, the Rams aren’t the only team that can get after the opposing QB. The Eagles have Brandon Graham and Fletcher Cox and that duo has been terrorizing offensive backfields all season long. The Rams protect Jared Goff well, but you know that twosome won’t be fully limited come Sunday – they’ll find ways to be effective to disrupt Goff.
Downfield, the Eagles’ secondary has really improved ever since Ronald Darby returned. Robert Woods is expected back so Goff will have some weapons to target, but the Eagles’ defense is a strong part of their team – and they really haven’t been exploited in any area yet this season. They’ll keep points off and give Wentz a chance to win this game.
This is a good match-up for Philadelphia and with them entering this contest off of a loss, their focus will be laser sharp. Carson Wentz is in a different league than most quarterbacks right now – including Jared Goff, and some elite play from him should make all the difference in a tightly-played game.
PICK = Eagles +1 (-115)
