Early matchups to watch at betting sites are one of the most significant aspects to look at for week 6 in the NFL is the return of Ben Roethlisberger – who was penalized for a code of conduct violation that made him miss the first 4 games of the 2010 season.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will be starting Roethlisberger for their Sunday match against the Cleveland Browns. The Steelers have done fairly well without him (3-1) but will be trusting him to deliver another home win for the season.
The Browns have much more to worry about beyond the return of Big Ben to the Steelers roster. The Steelers have hosted the strongest rush defense in the league with only 62.3 yards allowed per game.
The Browns, on the other hand, have been running for 102.8 yards. Finally, Joshua Cribbs and Peyton Hillis have both struggled with injuries in 2010.
The QB replacement of Seneca Wallace was also lost to an ankle injury during week 5. All of these factors combined should make for a tough game for the Browns – making the Steelers a very safe bet for week 6.
Another game to watch during week 6 will be the St. Louis Rams and San Diego Chargers – two teams that were losers in week 5. While the Chargers lost to a stripped ball that ended in a touchdown, the Rams were blown away by the Detroit Lions.
The Rams sacrificed a loss to give the Lions a bit of momentum after a frustrating season. When the dust settled, the Rams were destroyed by a tally of 44-6. Odds for the Chargers/Rams game are currently listed at -8.5/+8.5, respectively.
Finally, the line that has a lot of bettors confused is the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs. The point spread for this week 6 match up has the Texans at -5. However, many bookies seem to be underestimating the power that the Chiefs defense has had this year.
Earlier this year, the Chiefs were able to hold Peyton Manning to a season low and had a close game against the Colts. The Texans have made some recent changes to their style of play that could Andre Johnson out of a lot of plays.
This might be a serious mistake for the Texans. Houston might put too much stock in the run and could end up paying for it running up against a Kansas City wall. Check out top rated sports betting sites for current betting odds and lines.
