The Falcons head to Philly and try to get a big win on the road against a team that could also use the win. The Falcons 4-1 are looking to separate themselves from the rest of the division this week and since they are being considered a sleeper for the playoffs want to prove what they are capable off. The Eagles are 3-2 and in a three way tie for first place in their division and could use this game to try and get to the top of the standings. Kevin Kolb is set to start this week even though Vick is trying to get ready to play against his former team. Matt Ryan has improved and is starting to figure out how to win games on the road and we will see if that continues. Game is set to start Sunday at 1:00 PM EST.

The Atlanta Falcons are feeling good about being able to steal a win on the road against an Eagles team that has underachieved so far. Matt Ryan has been playing very well this season and has made obvious strides in his development and the biggest beneficiary of his development has to be Roddy White. Matt Ryan isn’t looking for anybody else besides White when he drops back to pass, but it has been working so you can’t complain with the results. Their Defense has also been a lot better especially against the run ranking 8th in the league. The Falcons are a loaded team that can compete with any team in the league, but are going to need a little bit of help from the running game if they want to get by the Eagles this week. Turner is going to have to have a big game running the football because Asante Samuel is one of the best Cornerbacks in the league and may be able to bottle up White all day. Matt Ryan will have to make some plays in the passing game as well, but it will be interesting to see what he does without White.
The Eagles had their franchise QB traded him, announced Kevin Kolb as the starter he got hurt, then Michael Vick became the starter, but then he got hurt and now it’s Kolb again. Now that we know who is starting at QB we can move one. Kolb has one job and that’s to move the Offense very efficiently through a series of quick passes and only taking deep shots if they are there. The Falcons Defense has improved, but they are still susceptible via the pass, McCoy has been very good at RB for the Eagles and has shown a lot of promise. On the Offensive side of the ball Kolb doesn’t have many excuses he has weapons everywhere, Desean Jackson is a top WR in the league and Brent Celek is a very solid TE, while the offensive line could be a bit better it suffices. On Defense the Eagles will blitz just like they always have, they will be aggressive and fly to the football. They are going to be able to force the Falcons to run the ball because their secondary is very strong.

Falcons vs Eagles Prediction for Week 6 Betting:
Game Total Prediction (Top Play): Both of the games played by these teams over the last three seasons have gone Under. I believe both of these teams are capable of scoring points, but for whatever reason the Falcons just cannot put together a solid all around effort from their Offensive unit and until they prove they can I won’t trust them to put up many points despite all the talent they have. As for the Eagles they have a very good pass defense which may make it hard for Matt Ryan to find places to go with the ball when he does look to throw the ball, he does have an exceptional RB in Turner and I think the Falcons Offense will be predicated around him and try to keep the aggressive Eagles Defense off balance. With Kevin Kolb at QB he has only shown he can make plays sometimes and has not been nearly as consistent enough and I don’t know if Andy Reid fully trusts him. Smart money says play the under, as both teams Defenses could show up.
Spread Prediction: The Eagles are at home and that really is going to end up being the deciding factor in this decision. The Eagles are 2-0 ATS over the last 3 seasons when playing the Falcons. This probably will be a close game that will come down to the last possession and a strong defensive showing by both teams will ensure this. Playing in Philadelphia is one of the hardest places to play in the league. Matt Ryan has not been at his best on the road in his career and I think his road woes will carry over. I think Kolb showed just enough last week to prove he can play QB in the league and take care of the football and just manage the game. The Defenses of both teams will show up and be physical, but the Eagles being at home have the edge in this one.
