FanDuel NFL Week 17 Picks

Hey Guys I’m back again for the weekly edition of the Power Plays. Now we take a look at the Week 17 slate in the NFL. I cant believe we are already in the last week of December, which means the NFL regular season is coming to an end. Its been quite a run for us the past two months of the NFL season, after a rocky start in the beginning. Last week was no different with a solid group of picks with Andrew Luck putting up a monster game with 26.7 FD points and connecting with his favorite wide out TY Hilton for 4 catches for 105 yards. The Jaguars and Allen Robinson busted out of their year long fantasy slump with a huge scoring 19.2 FD points. We also hit nicely on a bunch of mid-range players with Todd Gurley. Antonio Gates, and Cameron Brate finding the endzone. Also Michael Crabtree, Jordan Howard, Michael Thomas and the Chiefs D all putting up scores right around that 2x that we look for on FanDuel.

I want to thank everyone who has followed my picks each and every week, I hope I’ve been able to help you increase your DFS knowledge and more importantly your bankroll. If you’re not following make sure you find me on TWITTER for up to the minute updates, additional play, and analysis. Lets get into the week 17 Bauer Power Plays!

ATL – Matt Ryan ($ 8700) – The Falcons have scored over 30 points in 10+ games, and are averaging 33+ PPG this season. Ryan is facing a Saints defense that struggles on the road surrendering over 280 yards passing per game. Ryan is averaging over 300 YPG, has thrown multiple TDs in 4 out of his last 5, and a has a passing TD in every game this season.

Aaron Rodgers ($ 8800) – Its no surprise this week that were targeting top QBs playing in optimal match ups against terrible passes defenses. The Packers are on a 5 game win streak and have Mr. Discount Double check to thank. The past 5 games Rodgers has thrown 11 TDs to 0 INTS, and cracked 20FD points in 3 of those games. The Packers will lean heavily once again this week with the NFC North title on the line. Aaron Rodgers is the King of the North!

Running Backs

AZ – David Johnson ($ 9300) – I apologize for ranking David Johnson 4th last week out of the money back last week. This guy is the definition of match up proof, torching one of the best defenses at home for 31.6 FD points and 3TDS. David Johnson tied Barry Sanders record of 15 straight games with 100 yards from scrimmage, he now has the opportunity against the Rams to break the NFL record. The rams are stout against the run, but as mentioned above DJ is match up proof going for double digit fantasy points in every game this season and 24+ nine times.

ATL – Davonta Freeman ($ 8000) – This is the game you can stack a running back with a QB as Vegas set the total at 56 with the Falcons having a team total of 32. Devonta Freeman has been the RB of choice for the Falcons at home averaging 15.4 FD points at home this season. The last time these two teams met Freeman ran for 150 yards and added in 5 catches for 55 yards and a TD.

NYJ – Bilal Powell ($ 6600) – The Bills seem to be the new team to target on the ground, just ask Ajayi. Powell was a victim of game flow last week with the Jets getting behind so big so early. I expect the Jets to get him fully involved again on the ground game like the two weeks before. The Bills are allowing the most yards on the ground the past 4 weeks in the NFL.

*Tournament Target* NO – Mark Ingram ($ 6100) – The Saints are fully aware of the prolific offense of the Falcons, and I would not be surprised if they tried to control the clock a bit by establishing a running game early. Ingram is hit or miss every week, but it seems the Saints are more willing to run the ball in the redzone than in the years past. Ingram is 60 yards from 1,000 on the season and I’m sure that is a bonus in his contract. I expect them to fully go out and let him hit that mark.

Wide Receivers

GB – Jordy Nelson ($ 8200) – Ill be the first to admit I thought going into this year Jordy Nelson didnt have much left, and boy was I wrong. Nelson is now the second highest scoring WR per week in FD scoring with 16.44 points. The Lions are ranked in the bottom in the NFL against the pass, and in their first meeting Jordy found the end zone twice and recorded 101 yards receiving.

NO – Michael Thomas ($ 6700) – Once again were going back to the rookie pass catcher on the Saints. Thomas was close to a big game last week being targeted multiple times in the red zone. In the last meeting between these two teams Thomas recorded 7 catches for 71 yards and a TD. The second match up between these teams should be a bit easier for the Saints with the absence of Trufant.

SEA – Doug Baldwin – ($ 7100) – Each and every week this guy just seems to make a big play, and turn a slant or a comeback route into a TD. Seattle now travels to SF without Tyler Lockett, and I expect Baldwin to see even more targets this week. In the first meeting between these teams Baldwin went for 8 catches – 164 yards and a TD. Expect more of the same from a Seahawks team battling for the 2 seed.

*Tournament Target* HOU – DeAndre Hopkins ($ 7200) – Were going back to the match up theory here against the Titans. The Titans just made Bortles and Arob look like Montana to Jerry Rice. Hopkins as seen 23 targets the past two weeks, and Savage is playing for his job in this game. I expect him to rely on his #1 WR.

Tight Ends

KC – Travis Kelce ($ 6800) – Who is playing better than this guy right now? Kelce has gone for 100+ yards in 5 out of his last 6 games. This play sticks with the theory of playing players in games that have meaning.

Kansas City ($ 4900) – I love playing the KC defense one because they’re talented and two because they have Tyreke Hill returning punts. This defense has scored double digit fantasy points in 4 out of their last 5 games.
