FanDuel NFL Week 7 Picks

Hey guys, I’m back again for the weekly installment of the Power Plays. This week we take a look at the week 7 slate in the NFL. Week 6 was an interesting week for us here at the Sports Geek. The plays brought in mixed results all across the board, we had some big plays with guys hitting over 2x value, some middle of road guys hitting 1.5x value, a few guys who underwhelmed to say the least, and then a player who was a late scratch in Will Fuller.

Where we hit big last week was on Cam Newton who came through for us in the second half of the Saints game. Lamar Miller produced his biggest game of the year finally finding the end zone for the first time in week 6. Leveon Bell, Jimmy Graham, and Kelvin Benjamin gave us a decent scores especially if you played them on Draft kings with the full point PPR scoring system they use. A few players like Demarco Murray and the Titans defense left us wanting more, but both put up a solid score and didn’t knock you out of the cash if you played them. The players that hurt us the most last week were Delanie Walker, Willie Snead, and Emmanuel Sanders. That will happen though, I’ll never be too upset when we are targeting the right games for the right reasons but miss on an individual player. The Saints and Panthers game went for a total of 76 points, and the Broncos threw for 50 times and somehow DT and Sanders were only targeted 10 times. Let’s get back on the right track this week, and get to the week 7 Power Plays!

CINN – Andy Dalton ($ 8100) – When the Saints aren’t at home, we look to roster the QB facing the Browns. This week it’s the red rifle Andy Dalton, who might be getting his favorite red zone target back in Tyler Eifert. The Browns have given up 3 passing TDs in four straight, and multiple passing TD’s in every game. The Bengals have a 28 point team total, and I expect Dalton to have a hand in at least 3TDs.

WASH – Kirk Cousins ($ 7300) – The Lions are quickly becoming a team we are starting to target with the opposing teams passing game. Cousins has provided us a nice floor with 18 FD points in 4 of the last 5. The lions have allowed opposing QBs to score a minimum 16 points every week, and at one point last week allowed Keenum to complete 20 passes in a row. Vegas has this game with a high total of 48.5 points.

*Tournament Target* TB – Jameis Winston ($ 7500) – The 49ers have given up the most touchdowns to opposing teams since week 2, surrendering 22 in total. The 49ers are allowing 18 points a game to opposing QBs, and that is Winston’s average this year per game. I like the up tempo match up for the Bucs, and the Bucs will be forced to throw in the red zone.

Running Backs

Tenn – Demarco Murray ($ 8700) – Murray burned us a bit last week, going his first game without having a catch, but still found the end zone. This week Murray gets another great match-up against the Colts who have been getting burned almost every game on the ground giving up 108 yards a game, a 5.5 YPC against, and allowing nearly 6 receptions from running backs.

ATL – Devonta Freeman ($ 7500) – Freeman will be a big leverage play this week, we want exposure to the Atlanta offense this week in a great match up against the Chargers. But Julio and Matt Ryan will be extremely high owned for good reason. Freeman will go under owned this week, for a lead running back in a plus match-up and he has out touched Coleman 41-16 in the last 2 weeks. Atlanta has an extremely high team total, and are big favorites at home (-6.5).

TB – Jacquizz Rodgers ($ 5600) – Looks like Doug Martin had a setback this week in practice, which means another big workload for Rodgers. 35 touches last week for Rodgers and is now playing against a defense that allows 150 yards per game on the ground to opponents. I expect to see a 20+ touch workload again for Rodgers this week. This play will allow us to pay up for the big stud WRs that will are listed below.

Wide Receivers

Cinn – AJ Green ($ 8500) – The player I will be stacking with Dalton the most is his favorite target AJ green. The Browns have allowed 4 top 10 wide receivers already this year, if you factor that in with the volume AJ green sees per week. It adds up to AJ having another monster week against the browns who allowed AJ green to go for 5 -128- 1TD in the last match-up.

TB – Mike Evans ($ 8000) – I’ll be looking to roster Mike Evans in all formats this week, as he has one of the best match ups of the week. The Bucs just loss Vincent Jackson for the year earlier in the week, which means more targets for Evans who is seeing already seeing 11+ targets the last 4 weeks. Evans has one of the highest floors of all WR’s in the NFL only scoring under 16 once this year.

SD – Tyrell Williams ($ 6100) – Like last week with the running backs, the big WRs have great match ups this week. We will need to find guys to help with salary cap relief and I think one of those players is Tyrell Williams. That Chargers should be trailing in this game and will be forced to throw quite a bit in this game, and Williams is the most versatile and explosive WR for the Chargers.

*Tournament Target* IND – Ty Hilton ($7800) – TY has seen under 10 targets only once this year, and I like him in a bounce back match up against the Titans. I think TY will go under looked this week, in what should be a good match up for Andrew Luck.

Tight Ends

KC – Travis Kelce ($ 6300) – Kelce has seen 7+ targets in every game this season except for the last game, and I think that is largely due to weather and game flow. Kelce is seeing the volume and in what could be a shootout I expect Kelce to have his opportunity this week against a Saints defense that continues to get torched in the passing game.

TB – Cameron Brate ($ 5200) – The 49ers have allowed double digit points to opposing tight ends in every game this year. Brate who has been a target monster seeing 21 targets since the departure of ASJ. Brate is also Winstons second favorite target in the red zone behind Evans.

Buffalo Bills ($ 4700) – The Bills defense has been one of the most reliable defenses on the year, scoring double digit fantasy points in 3 of the last 4. Anytime you have a good defense going against Tannehill you roster them.
