The NFL is set up with another great week of action on Sunday. Twelve games are up on the board throughout November 29. One of these games will be between the New York Giants and the Cincinnati Bengals. These two teams have struggled throughout the season, but will look to earn a big win on Sunday. This game will kick off at around 1:00 PM Eastern time.
New York has earned a record of 3-7, which has them sitting in third place of the NFC East. The Giants are only one game back from the division lead, which they could obtain with a win on Sunday. New York has not had a great season so far, but are still looking for a big win. A playoff berth is still very much in the question for the Giants, which should lead to a great game.
The Bengals have put up a record of 2-7-1 throughout this season, which has them sitting in fourth place of the AFC North. Cincinnati’s season is pretty much in the drain once again as Joe Burrow is out for the season. The Bengals are still looking to finish out strong. I expect Cincinnati to come out strong in this one as they have a chance to hurt New York’s playoff hopes with a win.
These two teams have struggled throughout this season, but both have a chance to earn a win on Sunday. The Giants are fighting with their entire division for a playoff spot as none of the teams have bene impressive. If New York can string together a couple of wins here, it could help secure a playoff spot. I expect the Giants to look at this game as a must win.
New York is coming off a matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10 before their bye week. Boston Scott and Corey Clement both had rushing touchdowns for the Eagles, but it was not enough. Wayne Gallman had two rushing touchdowns, while Daniel Jones also had a rushing touchdown. The Giants were able to hold on for a 27-17 win over their rival.
The Bengals met up with the Washington Football Team in Week 11. Joe Burrow had a passing touchdown, but it was not enough for Cincinnati. Alex Smith had a passing touchdown to Steven Sims, while Antonio Gibson rushed for a touchdown. Dustin Hopkins had two field goals as Washington was able to win 20-9.
The Giants are coming off a win against the Eagles in their last matchup, while Cincinnati had a tough loss to the Football Team. New York had their bye week last week, which will give them some extra time to prepare coming into this one. I expect the Giants to come out strong on Sunday afternoon as they look to move up in the divisional standings.
Daniel Jones is the starting Quarterback for the Giants this season. Jones has struggled a bit throughout this season. He has thrown for 2122 yards, 8 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. Jones has also rushed for 384 yards and a touchdown on the season. Last week Jones went 21-28 for 244 yards with 64 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground.
Ryan Finley will be the starting QB for the Bengals this week as Joe Burrow is out for the season. Finley has played in five games, throwing for 504 yards, 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions in his career. Finley stepped in last week after Burrow went down. He went 3-10 for 30 yards and an interception. Cincinnati will need him to step up if they want to earn a win on Sunday night.
Daniel Jones has not had the best season so far, but he gives the Giants the edge in this one as they go against Ryan Finley. Finley did not do great stepping into last week’s loss, but will have more preparation coming into this one. If Finley can have a good performance, it could help get the Bengals the win. If New York shuts down Finley though, it could be a third straight victory for the Giants.
Offense vs Defense
New York’s offense has been just about non-existent throughout this season. The Giants have scored 195 points and gained 3066 yards of offense, which are both 30th in the league. New York has held their opponents to 236 points, which is 12th in the NFL though. The Giants have only allowed 3586 yards, which is 17th in the league.
The Bengals have not been good on offense, but have been a bit better than New York. Cincinnati has scored 213 points, which is 26th in the NFL. The Bengals have gained 3491 yards of offense, which is 20th in the league. Cincinnati has given up 270 points and 3909 yards to opposing teams, which is 22nd and 26th in the NFL this season.
Cincinnati has been a bit better on the offensive side of the ball this season, but the Giants have been better on defense. New York’s defense has had an extra week of preparation and are going up against Ryan Finley. I believe the Giants defense can shut down the Bengals, which will give New York’s offense a great chance to go out and dominate.
The Giants are going into Cincinnati after having a nice two game winning streak going into their bye week. If New York can carry that momentum over, it could help them take a victory over the Bengals. The Giants have only won games in their division this season, but this is a prime game to earn a win out of the division. I expect New York to come out strong on offense to build up an early lead on a beaten up Cincinnati team.
BetOnline has the Giants listed as a -6 against the spread in this one. This gives a solid edge to New York. I agree with this line as the Giants have a lot more to play for in this one. New York is in the thick of the battle for the division, while Cincinnati has packed it up for the season after Burrow went down. If the Giants can build up an early lead, I expect them to earn a big win on Thursday.
