Detroit Lions vs Seattle Seahawks NFL Pick – Week 17

The NFL is set up with another great slate of games throughout Week 17. Fifteen games will be up on the board throughout Sunday. One of these matchups will be between the Detroit Lions and the Seattle Seahawks. These two teams have struggled throughout the season, but will look to finish strong. This game will kick off at around 4:25 PM Eastern time.

Detroit has posted a record of 2-12-1 throughout this season, which has them sitting in last place of the NFC North. The Lions are coming off a loss in their last game, but have won two of their last four. Detroit is in second to last place of the NFL, but will look to grab a win in this one. I expect the Lions to try and come out fast on the road in this one.

The Seahawks have put up a record of 5-10 so far this season, which has them in last place of the NFC West. Seattle has lost their last two games and five of their last seven. The Seahawks are coming off a loss to the Chicago Bears on a two point conversion. Seattle will look to bounce back and get back on track with a win in this one.

These two teams have not had ideal seasons to this point, but will look for a big win in this one. The Lions have been much better in the last few weeks, but have still struggled heavily on the season. Seattle has not been able to get much more going. If either team can grab an early lead in this one, it could be enough for the win.

Lions vs. Seahawks NFL Game Preview

The Lions and Seahawks last met up in Week 8 of the 2018 season. Matthew Stafford had two passing touchdowns to Marvin Jones Jr., but it was not enough for Detroit. Russell Wilson had three passing touchdowns, while Chris Carson had a rushing touchdown. Seattle was able to earn a 28-14 win on the road in that matchup.

These two teams have met up 15 times throughout their histories. The Seahawks lead the all-time series with a record of 10-5 in those matchups. Seattle has won the last three games and six of the last seven. Detroit will look to breakthrough though on Sunday. If either team can come out quickly in this one, it could be enough for the win.

These two teams look different form the last time they met up. Russell Wilson is still the starting Quarterback for Seattle and will look to earn a win in this one. Matthew Stafford started under center last time for the Lions. Either Tim Boyle or Jared Goff will start for Detroit in this one. Both teams have lost lots of key players since the last meeting and will look for some to step up.

Opening Odds and Line Movement

The spread for this game opened up at -9 ½ in favor of the Seahawks. The line has dropped down to -7 points for Seattle after the Seahawks lost to the Bears last week.

The total for this matchup started at 45 Points entering Sunday’s game. The over/ under has lowered down to 42 points. This total dropping down makes sense since both offenses have struggled to find some consistency this season.

The spread dropping down to -7 makes it a bit closer, which makes sense. Neither team has looked very impressive on the season. Detroit will have a chance to get their offense going against the Seahawks struggling defense. If the Lions can come out fast, I think they could cover the spread at least.

Free Bet and Game Prediction: Detroit Lions +7 (-110)

These two teams have struggled throughout this season, but will look to grab a big win as the season nears its end. Seattle is coming off back to back losses, but will look to knock off the Lions. Detroit has been able to keep games close all season and I think they will keep it close again in this one. If the Lions can get their offense going early, I like their chances to cover.

Jared Goff will likely get the start at Quarterback for Detroit in this one. Goff has passed for 3007 yards, 17 touchdowns and 8 interceptions on the season. Russell Wilson will get the nod under center for the Seahawks. Wilson has passed for 2639 yards, 18 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. Wilson has also rushed for 154 yards and a touchdown.

The line being set at seven points makes this game very appealing. The Lions have kept most of their games within one score this season and will be going up against a less than impressive Seattle team. Detroit will have a chance to get their offense going early in this one. As big underdogs in this one, I really like the value on the Lions.

Detroit Lions +7
